Abreu olive oil

I am on the waiting list and just got an offer for their olive oil.
Anyone have an opinion?
Thanks!

Price?

Vintage and oak treatment?

ummmm $50 for 500ml and you have to buy three

Following the Tuscan model, I guess, of charging a premium for oil with a winery label.

I just bought a case of olive oil from Neal Family… 500ml for $25.

Yes it may be cheaper but it doesn’t say Abreu on the label!
And that famous terroir!

Good lord.

You mean terroir doesn’t extend to olive trees?

If you say so…I’ve bought Isole e Olena for the last few years and this year it was only for $25/500ml which included shipping. (From Giuliana, no connection). La Spinetta isn’t that expensive, either. The Rosenthal EVOO’s, on the other hand…

2 liters of Costco’s Kirkland EVOO is about $13.

Rare Wine Co. Great Tuscan oils every year

Coincidentally, I just ordered a bottle of Hamilton Russell olive oil. Really more for the novelty of a South African olive oil. But it was only $19 so very little downside!

Get the Veleta oils

I’ve got to remember to log on for Berserker day and do just that.
I have to admit that the olive oil open on my counter is Le Ragnaie.

I bought Veleta for the first time this summer and it’s great stuff. No way would I consider paying $50 for a Napa version (even though there are several good ones).

Deal of the year

I’m collaborating with a Spice blender on getting some special spice packs this year and redoing my website. Planning on new bottles… so much to do…

+1 on Veleta. We order on Berserker’s Day. We give it away as client gifts. People love it.

Love Veleta! (and don’t miss the Sherry Vinegar either)

Has anyone had the Scholium Project olive oil?
