I can guarantee several Berserkers will get to share in the bounty. And Beau will probably get more than his fair share. [drinkers.gif] We have a friend who buys one jamon annually and has all the appropriate serving goodies.

I had read the original thread posts to indicate that much (most?) of the items were to be shipped stateside after your trip over. Factoring in the above along with my original assessment, I did not expect any shipping notices before mid-March, probably later.

If I haven't heard anything by mid-April then I will IM you for an update. Otherwise I will bide my time patiently.

Veleta Gourmet - Berserker Blowout - FREE SHIPPING!!

#127 Post by Nola Palomar » March 9th, 2017, 8:00 am

I want to give everyone who ordered an update on products.

I will divide it out by products and shipments.

Shipment 1 2017 EVOO, 2016 Viji, 2016 Rose, a variety of Reds, Don Miguel and the Sparkling Wines.
My first container was delayed in the Mediterranean due to weather for several days. It is finally due to arrive and I will unload it tomorrow morning. https://www.msc.com/track-a-shipment (container# tcnu7902846) If you want to track it with me [wow.gif]
I was not able to get the Modena label approved by the Italian government until just two weeks ago. They are bottling and printing the labels. As soon as the producer gets it to my winery I will be shipping the Modena Vinegar in a second container…. That is due to depart ideally next week, but manana is a common phrase in Spain and as much as I push, sometimes it doesn't actually help it just gets me more stressed out...

I depart for Spain next week until April 1. If Container #2 has not departed before I leave it should depart shortly thereafter.
#2 will have more Tuna and Sardines, Modena Vinegar, Sherry Vinegar and another large load of wines. I will try to keep you posted...

Cheeses I am shipping air freight, the Iberico Cheese is a little more problematic than the Manchego and I am going to solve it when I get to Spain. I should have both cheeses in early April.

Jamon, I am unraveling a mess that the producer in Spain encountered with our USDA FSIS Labeling division. Bleh! Apparently he sent in all his labels to be approved via hard copy... the jamons would be petrified by the time the labels would be approved. I reached out to the Director of the LPDS- OPPD-FSIS-USDA and she has actually assigned three deputies to review the labels and help me navigate the approval. It's all done digitally, so I am really making progress. Just the Nutrition Facts alone has been a logistical nightmare... I am hoping that the labels will get approved with in the next week to two weeks and then we ship... They will be shipped air freight, so, pending no issues it could be early April...but please continue to be patient.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!!

The container was loaded, and sent to the port and supposedly there is another delay according to the Freight Forwarder, they are saying the Easter Holiday has the shipping containers departing early etc. I don't buy it. I am waiting to hear back the status and will keep you posted.

The majority of the cheese was shipped out yesterday. The shipping rates were untakeable to get them to CA, FL and other warmer areas so I asked my neighbor at my warehouse to help me ship out (XTown Performance) He ships a lot of big truck parts out across the country and has much better shipping rates than I could get. I will send an email with tracking numbers for everyone that is going to receive a package via XTown.

The Jamones have been paid for and are due to ship on the 19th and will be in the US on the 23rd. As soon as USDA, FDA and Customs releases them I will start shipping them out.

As a note, this has been a very arduous process to get all the legalities and labels approved. Juan and I have been asked to be the official importer and representative of these Jamones. We are looking forward to the opportunity.

In the end these are the Jamoneras and Knives I am importing and coming in the container. The benefit to these is that they can be used for both bone in and boneless Jamones. I will have a final price ones I get them here and can calculate the duties and taxes, etc.

Hey Michael and everyone still waiting on their shipment! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!!!

I am waiting on the Modena Vinegar. The container left the winery last Monday and due to the Easter Holy week in Spain, they apparently closed the shipping offices early resulting in the container being delayed another week. It is due to depart from Algeciras, Spain on Monday the 24th and arrive on Wed May 3rd to NY then another 3-4 days transit to Dayton. As soon as it get here I am ready to ship. [cheers.gif]

just opened a can of the Veleta tuna, it was really great. Meaty and not fishy tasting at all, great tuna flavor. I've been enjoying the olive oil, too. Curious about the sardines for the future -- are they boneless and with the heads removed?

Hi Fred, glad you find the tuna and EVOO so enjoyable!! The Sardines are amazing, headless and they are so small, bones have not fully formed. You get the calcuium benefits without the traditional fish bones. There are 16 - 22 Sardines per can!!
