I left all price tags in place to keep the historical perspective alive and well.
Al Brountstein is probably smiling about 3800% appreciation on the 1978's. The supply chain today says that is not going to happen again. He was a sharp gent, releasing earlier than any other Cab producer, figuring everyone knew his mountain monsters needed cellar time, or would learn it rapidly. At a well known, but long gone shop, we sold more than any wholesaler or retailer. He would stop by after a massive delivery and repeat "Now, if you are having trouble selling all this inventory, I will buy it back.", knowing it would fly out the door.
DC was one of the original Cabs with a fanatical cult following, along with Martha's, Grace and Caymus SS(1000 cases or less through 1984) Buying it paid off in a couple of ways.

I love the price on them. The $12.50 78 Diamond Creek I have is hilarious.

Received my bottles, and as others have mentioned, they were in even better condition than Richard said they would be!

Couldn't be more excited to have these unique gems in my Cellar- true CA history right here!

The only problem is.....I'm having a hard time finding the right bottle in Cellar Tracker!?!? :)

P.s. 1980 is a birth year wine. Probably the only one I'll actually try to drink.

Somebody needs to do a line of T's or hoodies with those old school labels on them. Too cool for school.

Berserkers, "Start your engines!" for Part 2 of the Curator's Cellar Sale.
The spreadsheet for the next portion of the cellar is being emailed this Thursday AM to those who have ordered and to those who made contact via email. If you have made contact with me and do not receive the spreadsheet Thursday AM, let me know and I will get it to you Fri AM. The sale will start at precisely at 12 noon on Sat with bidding continuing through the weekend. Non bid items will sell until the orders stop coming in.
The total number of bottles is larger this time around and there are more bottles up for bidding.

Thank you for your participation and good luck getting your requested wines.
Richard

P.S. If you have not ever emailed me and wish to take part, please get your email address to me ASAP at vinoscape@gmail.com
