RED and WHITE - BLUE LABEL too! (plus a bonus offer)

The election is over and we're going with a patriotic theme with a twist - so here's a little play on a Grateful Dead tune (U.S. Blues) for this year's Berserkers Day! BTW this is not a political statement, we just happen to like the Grateful Dead and this song fit with our offer!!!

We've participated in every Berserkers Day (and sold out each year - thank you very much!!!) and we enjoy the challenge of coming up with a creative offer each year. Many of you have inquired about older vintages of our wines - as you know we are a small production winery and most of our past wines are long gone - but we dug into our personal library, found a few cases for this year's Berserkers Day. Hope you like what we've come up with!

We know you have a choice of wines - thanks in advance for taking a look at our offers! If you have any questions please email us at wine@jeanedwardscellars.com

Cheers.

Karen and John

RED 3-PACK: SORRY SOLD OUT

1 bottle 2010 Jean Edwards Cellars Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
2 bottles 2012 Jean Edwards Cellars Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
(this 3-pack normally sells for $204)

2010 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Our vineyard block is located within the Pritchard Hill Region of Stagecoach Vineyard. The 2010 shows a solid core of red and black cherry fruit, hints of Asian spice and a subtle thread of mocha. Black cherry along with tobacco and some leather in the nose. The wine is medium bodied with good acidity and structure. Still young and will benefit from a medium decant. Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Petit Verdot. Aged 24 months in French Oak. CellarTracker Avg: 92

2012 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2012 Stagecoach cab is very silky in the mouth with black/red cherry, cassis and cola notes. The nose is red fruit dominant, with tobacco and hints of vanilla. Indicative of the vintage, this is a slightly softer wine that is delicious now but will age gracefully. Aged 22 months in French Oak. Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of malbec. CellarTracker Avg: 92

WHITE 3-PACK: SOLD OUT
3 Bottles 2015 Jean Edwards Cellars Dalla Gasperina Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc (Rutherford)
(this 3-pack normally sells for $96)

2015 Dalla Gasperina Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
Located on the northern end of the Rutherford Bench, Dalla Gasperina Vineyard produces wines with great character and depth. Our 2015 sauvignon blanc shows citrus and tropical notes - orange blossoms, peaches, melon and pineapples with hints of minerality. The addition of semillon adds a richness to the mid-palate and a touch of acidity keeps the wine in balance. Aged 8 months in neutral French Oak. Delicious! CellarTracker Avg: 90

BLUE LABEL 3-PACK: SOLD OUT
2 bottles 2011 Jean Edwards Cellars Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
1 bottle 2012 Jean Edwards Cellars Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
(this 3-pack normally sells for $270)

2011 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Owned by the O'Shaughnessy Family, this cabernet sauvignon vineyard is located on Oakville Cross Road adjacent to Plumpjack and Groth. The wine is very expressive with a full mouth - layered with dark black cherry, currants and espresso. True to our style, the wine is not over the top - 94% cabernet sauvignon and 6% malbec. Aged 22 months in French Oak. CellarTracker Avg: 92

2012 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
From one of Napa Valley's most cherished cabernet sauvignon vineyards. 2012 was our first year in this vineyard and we're pretty excited by what's in bottle and it keeps getting better (and better) with each bottle we open. This is a very balanced and multi-dimensional wine - dark cherry, black currants, cassis and hints of dust overlaying sweet oaky tannins and a long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Petit Verdot. Aged 22 months in French Oak. CellarTracker Avg: 93

Opened the '11 JE Oakville. From PnP (opened 15 minutes ago)- as advertised. Lots of fruit on nose. currant, some espresso, and chocolate (light) on the palate. Nice finish. I will leave it for decanting for dinner, and/or put it back for tomorrow (if indeed we'd stay at home for the snow)

Edited: Reminding myself to read my own previous tasting notes-- In 2014 I told myself 3-4 hours decanting...

Thanks Erez - opened one of these over the weekend for a dinner party and only gave it about an hour decant. Wish I had given it more.

Left it for day 2/3 (put one part in a 375ml filled to the very very top, and the rest in a 300ml bottle filled almost to the neck level). Last night, the nose was better than day 1 imho. That said, it was also very cold (very slow decanting)

Khoi - I think you will find with our wines they hold very well after opening. They also are cellar worthy - we are currently drinking some of our 05 and 06 vintages - they are young and vibrant with little signs of aging. Happy you are enjoying them!

Shipping Update - East Coast Winter Storm

We elected to place some orders on hold due to the upcoming winter storm. This hold only impacts orders shipping out of our east coast warehouse and emails have been sent to those impacted. We are targeting to ship these orders on 3/20.

Orders shipping out of the west coast warehouse are not impacted.
