SOLD OUT: JEAN EDWARDS CELLARS - SCORE BIG WITH OUR BIG GAME RED ZONE OFFERS

.
JEAN EDWARDS CELLARS
BERSERKERS DAY - BIG GAME RED ZONE OFFERS

WE ARE AN OFFICIAL BERSERKERS BUSINESS SO YOU CAN ORDER FROM US ON PREVIEW DAY!!!!!!

The BIG GAME is coming up soon and we're offering Berserkers some BIG PLAY OFFERS! No cheating, no scandal - these are legitimate offers - AT UNDER-INFLATED PRICES!

SCORE BIG - a point value has been assigned to each pack below. If your total order reaches 10 points or more you will also receive a FREE mystery bottle of wine.

THE TOUCHDOWN (6 points)
Pack #1 – 2012 Jean Edwards Cellars Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - $210/3-pack (includes shipping)

This not-yet-released wine will be released to our mailing list later in 2015 (release price will be $90/bottle) – we are offering a sneak preview 3-pack to you for Berserkers Day.

Our 2012 Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon wine comes from an historic vineyard in the heart of the Rutherford Bench. This vineyard produces some of Napa Valley’s most cherished cabernet sauvignon wines.

2012 was a picture-perfect vintage from start-to-finish. Combining perfect growing conditions with an outstanding vineyard resulted in a very special wine that is harmoniously balanced and delicious. The wine is very expressive and multi-dimensional with great structure – dark cherry, black currants, cassis and hints of dust – overlaying sweet oaky tannins and a long finish. 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot the wine was aged for 22 months in 100% French Oak (70% new/30% one year old barrels). This is a very limited pre-release – if you are a fan of Rutherford cabs don’t pass this one up. Release price will be $90/bottle

THE FIELD GOAL (3 points)
Pack #2 – 2011 Jean Edwards Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - $120/3-pack (includes shipping)
Release price: $65/bottle. We know the critics have demanded you stay away from buying the 2011 vintage – but we know how Berserkers enjoy listening to the critics and boy did the critics get this vintage wrong generalizing about it! Here's a small sampling of what consumers are saying about this wine CT 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a special vineyard located on the eastern hillsides of St. Helena (just below Howell Mountain). This wine is a bit more old world in style than our other cabernets – it is 88% cabernet sauvignon and 12% merlot – and we gave this wine slightly less oak treatment (about 22 months in French Oak – 45% new). While we can’t divulge the name of the cabernet vineyard (although there are hints to the name in this offer), the wine expresses the signature of it – dark cherry and cassis, dried herbs (bay, basil and hints of mint). The wine will pair well with most foods – but we think it will go exceptionally well with lamb.

THE TWO POINT CONVERSION (2 points)
Pack #3 – 2012 Jean Edwards Cellars Petite Sirah – Calistoga: $90/3-pack (includes shipping)
Release price: $42/bottle. Now for something different - this 100% petite sirah wine comes from Vincent Arroyo’s vineyard in Calistoga. The wine is medium-bodied, deep garnet in color with rich berry fruit and hints of black pepper, spice and earth on the finish. Aged for 20 months in a combination of French and American oak (at this young age, a lengthy decant is recommended for those without patience).

THE TROPHY (7 points)
Pack #4 – 6-Bottle Sampler Pack: $280 (includes shipping)
Not sure what to order – why not order a sampler of all three wines offered for Berserkers Day 2015! You’ll receive:

- 2 bottles 2012 Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
- 2 bottles 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
- 2 bottles 2012 Petite Sirah Calistoga

DON'T FUMBLE THIS OFFER - make sure to order quickly to take advantage of these special offers (all of our previous Berserkers Day offers have sold out). Remember - if your order totals 10 points or more you'll receive a free mystery bottle with your order. Ordering and shipping details are included on the ordering page...

Use this link to order https://www.jeanedwardscellars.com/berserkers.html

or visit our website at http://www.jeanedwardscellars.com and click on the special Berserkers tab at the top of the homepage. This offer is not available through our website order page.

COACH KAREN will be monitoring the offer thread or you can email her at wine@jeanedwardscellars.com with any questions. Order confirmations will be sent via email within 24 hours.

Thanks again for your support of our wines! Cheers to a great Berserkers Day and to a great game! [cheers.gif]

Hi Mark - much depends on which wine...

Our general style - not overly-extract wines... Wines that will really pair well with food and have a nice thread of acidity.

The 11 Napa Valley cab is a softer more old world style - we used less new french oak (only about 45%) and also blended in 12% merlot so it is definitely a softer style and more bordeaux-like.

The 12 Rutherford Reserve is a much bigger profile (not only the fruit but the vintage really shows through). Its our reserve so it gets much more new french oak about 70%).

The 12 petite sirah is from multiple blocks from Vincent Arroyo in Calistoga. This is not an inky petite and like most petites needs a bit more time to open up (we decant for a min of 2 hours). We used a combo of french and american oak for this wine.

Hope this helps!

In for two touchdowns! I love the GIII, we got to try it in December at the James Beard House dinner where Jean Edwards Cellars Stagecoach Cabernet Sauvignon was paired with the short ribs course.

You're welcome! FWIW IMO Jean Edwards is at the top of the Napa QPR game. Why spend $100+ for a Napa Cab when you can get top quality for $40? Can't wait to try the GIII! If you've never tried Jean Edwards the 6-pack sampler is a no-brainer.

David_T wrote:You're welcome! FWIW IMO Jean Edwards is at the top of the Napa QPR game. Why spend $100+ for a Napa Cab when you can get top quality for $40? Can't wait to try the GIII! If you've never tried Jean Edwards the 6-pack sampler is a no-brainer.
David's analysis is spot on.....couldn't have said it any better.

"IN" for 2 TD's and a FG!!! [dance-clap.gif]

  • 2006 Jean Edwards Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley (1/26/2015)
someone needed to take one for the team. Pobega was not available, so it was left on us to do what it takes to enter the BD, and we opened this napa yummy bottle. Good for the storm, and for all weather conditions. For the details: What does one want from a good cab?
One can go by the list--
Aroma- of course, great nose right from the opening. Berries (blackberry?) and lots of the berries fruit. On the spices- peppers. On the wood, cedar. Heavier oak than the younger wines of Jean Edwards. Certainly developed more earthy tastes and secondary notes.
Very big on the nose (even now, about 4 hours after the bottle was opened).

So, what does one need from a good cab?
Aging potential, balance and harmony, good QPR, and that one thing I can't explain- a 'signature line' that goes across all wines of the wine maker. So, it has it all, in a steal price range. Glad we have some nice range of Jean Edwards wines. Everything for every mood.

The only other note I had was that the bottle had slightly more sediments than I anticipated. (93 pts.)

In for a TD, 2 FG's and a 2 pt conversion. Sharing with some friends. I'm sure they will be blown away by the wine and the value

Stay safe to all on the East Coast.
Cheers,
Tony
