Given the large discounts during BD.. are any offers NOT a QPR??

if you can't get QPR on BD buys, then that offer probably wasn't very good.. :)

Good lord... The auction items are starting to roll in. Let me share a sneak preview with you now.

Sorry, the boss won't let me. neener

I'll guarantee there are items in the auction berserkers have NEVER seen.

Unique? Ostentatious? Absurd? Ridonculous? Sentimental?

Yes to all of the above.

Thank you to the producers for participating.

Agree with that.

I'd add Ladd Cellars Pinot offering to the QPR deals. Maybe better than the Sandler?

Let's call it a tie. [cheers.gif]

I work for DOD as a civilian. We're being taken there and back by the military. I just became the Project Manager for all our Navy and Marine Corps fueling services contracts in the Western US. San Clemente Island is part of a North Island contract that we're getting ready to recompete. I do plan on working on my wine buying strategy on Preview day. I've got no idea where I'm going to put more wine, but that's never stopped me before.

I loved the case of Cabot Syrah I got last year and so did everyone I've shared them with. Jean Edwards Cellars and Ladd are must buys for me. Working now on opening some of my BDV purchases for research. Angel Camp Pinot Noir on deck for today.

Thanks to Dan for including us on the list and thanks to Jeff, Adam & Michael for the kind words. A big thanks to THE TODD as well.

The killer B's. Bailiwick and Briceland. I'm in on both for sure. For tonight's national championship game, I have the Briceland Arneis on deck and then 2 Pinot Noirs from Bailiwick. The 2009 Borderline and the 2010 Foray. Both of these wineries should be on everyone's short list for Berserker Day.

This will be my first foray into BerserkerDay and the list of participants (wine/food) is absurd. Can't wait to tell my fiance why we have to dramatically reduce the amount of guests at the wedding. I suppose I can just fill the empty seats with empty bottles and lovingly refer to them as dearly departed friends.....

The prices (at least non-BD-VI) are eye-popping. Are the steaks that much better than one can get (similar cuts) at a local reputable butcher for a fair amount less? I have nothing against Flannery, although my experience with mail-order steaks in the past has made me skeptical of their general merit.

The bottom line with Flannery (I am very, very far from his largest customer)— no other steak that I have cooked at home has elicited moans of pleasure.

The prices (at least non-BD-VI) are eye-popping. Are the steaks that much better than one can get (similar cuts) at a local reputable butcher for a fair amount less? I have nothing against Flannery, although my experience with mail-order steaks in the past has made me skeptical of their general merit.
I've had it only a couple of times.. and it's glorious.. it really is better than most things you can buy..

that said it's pricey.. so it's kinda like michelin 3 star dining, is it good? yes.. can you eat it every day? well. i can't..
