Cabot Vineyards is going Retro!

#1 Post by John Cabot » January 26th, 2014, 12:54 pm

This years offer is a rare opportunity to buy wines that we have aged perfectly in our winery. They have never moved since bottling and were kept in ideal conditions. We have pulled a few cases of a number of our library wines and we are offering them in a variety of packs. We are extending a flat $10 shipping, so even if you order multiple packs it is still $10! In addition we are offering 8 bottles of the infamous 2006 Syrah, Bacon Fat bottling. It will be awarded to the first eight people that order the full case of Retrospective Syrah. grouphug

All these wines are from our estate vineyards, organically farmed and lovingly tended by John himself.

LONG time forum favorite (essentially, wasn't Cabot 'discovered' on Wine Berserkers, about 5 years ago?), and with the ever-desirable 'Bacon Fat' thrown in to a few lucky buyers...

Well I only have 4 cases of Cabot actually. I seem to open a pretty consistent 15-16 per year for 3 years in a row now. And yes, I do have most of them.

I'd like to try some of their wine, any recommendations on which of the packs showcase Cabot's winemaking style? (excluding #5)
I'll be sharing this purchase with my parents. They prefer cab, zin, shiraz (fruit-forward), whereas I prefer pinot. Thanks!

My first-ever Berserker day purchase. Taking a flyer on a six-pack of the Kimberly Syrah and the Zin sampler based on the raves here, solid CT scores the very reasonable price point, plus outstanding shipping.

I didn't see anything about WHEN they would be shipping? I'm assuming they'll hold for weather since I didn't see a place to specify that ...

I bought the Klamath pack, the Zin pack, and two Kimberly packs. What an incredible bunch of wine - 18 bottles for $360 delivered! I have never tasted a Cabot that was not at minimum satisfying and full of character, and John is always generous, often throwing in a little extra something.

I would have loved to have acquired the library Syrah pack and some Pinot, but decided to stock up on the cheaper Cabots so I can drink them with abandon, rather than saving them for special occasions. I have not found a winery with consistently better QPR than Cabot.

Thanks to John and Kimberly Cabot for this great offer.

Susan, they have a new website since I last ordered. Previously I had to drive down with my biker friends to persuade them to sell me some juice. [snort.gif] I think you will have better luck than you had with your cooler. [oops.gif] The wines are definitely worth it. champagne.gif

In for six of the Confluence bottles. I've had a couple of those before, and they are really beautiful cool-climate-California-old-school-meets-Bordeaux types of wines, and the quality of wines you'd pay 2-3 times as much for from places like the Santa Cruz Mountains. At $150 for six ($25@) and reasonable shipping prices, it's a sweet deal.

My only Berzerkday purchase so far, though probably not my last.

My first berserker day and it took all of 5 minutes before I've come out of pocket. Fired in on the Syrah Retrospective case. Really pumped for this deal, and REALLY hoping I got it in time to get the Bacon Fat.
If you don't start drinking early, how can you drink all day?
