Are we having fun yet? What did you buy?

Often the most expensive day for a Wine Berserker, whereby the deals from wineries and retailers fill the forum and make your credit cards scream for mercy...

So far I have purchased the Calluna four-pack, after having tasted the wines twice with winemaker David Jeffrey and written about the CVC (Calluna Vineyards Cuvée) for my blog.

That offer sheet from Panzer could bring on bankruptcy if I spend some time reviewing the offers.
Match Magnums could be dangerous to the CC.

Glad to see the Nicora offer so well recieved. Passed due to my large Paso inventory, but will be visiting.

Here's a suggestion for those who like to use social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc) - post a link to your favorite deal of the day (or two or three favorite deals) - rather than to the whole forum, brag about your find, particularly if you got in on something that sold out! neener

15% off yes; 50+% off, hardly:

2008 Anderson's Conn Valley Eloge x6 @$38 each
2009 Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Napa @ $28
2009 Ridge Estate Merlot x2 @ $19
2007 Gemstone Facets @ $38
2008 Peirson Meyer Cabernet Sauvignon Napa x2 @ $28
2007 Paolo Scavino Barolo Bric del Fiasc x2 @ $38
2007 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin @ $38
2006 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino x2 @ $28
2009 Domaine St Damien Gigondas Cuvee Louisiane x3 @ $9

Overall about three cases of stuff.

Bought EMH, Loring, Big Basin, Cabot, Jemrose, Keating, Siduri/Novy, and Windy Oaks. The Jemrose was a surprise, as I didn't see it on the sneak preview. But I was so impressed with their syrah during the "featured winery" thingy that I couldn't pass it up.

As of now,Sojourn and Cabot. I've read so many great things on this board about these wines, I had to give them a try!! I'm still mulling others over. I was doing so well with a wine budget and limiting my purchases...until today

I believe I'm all done. Finished with:

EMH Black Cat 2 Pk, Cellars 33 Chardonnay, Calluna 4 pk, Jean Edwards Mix, and Rasa. I'm happy with my haul and unless any surprises are in store, no other purchases are planned. This was a blast...thanks Todd and everyone else that got this together.

Sojourn, Cabot, Rasa and a Wine Check for my next Cali trip. If not for the Aubert allocation last week I would have done even more damage. Great offers today.

2 Match Magnums, a 2 pack of Black Cat, and a 4 pack of Sandler PN probably brings my BD purchases to a close.
Next year, moving to a cheaper zip code in a house with more room for storage might put me on the pre-season favorites list for MVB in 2014.

(I filled out the Rasa order form twice, each time backing out before submitting...maybe next year)

Final tally: Jean Edwards, Keating, Storyteller/Ayres, Kaella, Helio Terra, Fogline, Cellars 33, Tercero (split with David), EMH Black Cat (David gets one of 3), Cabot and of course a Wine Check! Believe it or not, AMEX called last evening to make sure I was the one making the purchases and that slowed me down. Have to buy Kutch today (first year on the ML!) but that's it for purchases for a while. Thanks to Todd, Jeb, and all the gang for a wonderful BD IV!

Now that the dust has settled and I've had a chance to survey the damage, here it is:
Sonkin
Sojourn
Halcon (3 magnum vertical...was the last one in under the wire)
Jean Edwards

Also had a big in on the Saxum James Berry magnum which went unanswered for several hours. When I went to bed I thought I might wake up as the winner, but a few bidders topped me just before the closing bell...which was probably just as well. My bank account is struggling as it is.
