BerserkerDay IV Master Thread (discussions, info, etc - FIRST POST UPDATED)

Often the most expensive day for a Wine Berserker, whereby the deals from wineries and retailers fill the forum and make your credit cards scream for mercy...

Looking forward to seeing how a rare, non commercial format size bottle does.

I am a berserker Day virgin.

I'll be taking over the offer postings at some point during the day when Todd has to leave due to some poorly planned prior engagement. Kind of makes me question his dedication to the board if you ask me. neener

Oh this is going to be bad, now that the partial list is posted I'm even more worried... and its just in time to tack on to the January credit card bills, right after the big one from December holiday season got paid... Wifey will be so excited! [help.gif]

If there is anyone in LA or Orange County that might be interested in splitting orders, please feel free to drop me a PM or email at jesseix @ hotmail.com. I'm running really low on storage space and if anyone is in the same boat I'd be happy to split bottle counts and shipping costs. Just don't have the space right now to accommodate as many full orders as I think I'm going to want to make...
Happy Friday all!

Final count (well, still sort of waiting for one more that I promised to hold space for) is 73 different line items in the spreadsheet, and almost all have multiple offers within each line item.

Holy hell.

Well, if you take advantage of two free shipping offers, the donation pays for itself right there, and you get a year free of no ads, plus the sneak preview of BerserkerDay. Sounds like a no-brainer!

Everything has been sent to Todd and is all set up. Looking forward to my 3rd BerserkerDay!

It's going to be tough to cover the tasting room on Sunday with all the offers running through. I'm hoping for a slow Sunday, so I can do some shopping.

I'm new here, and would appreciate some help. I've read through this thread, and am still a bit confused.

How will I find out what is on offer?

If I see something I want, how do I buy it? Is there a thread with instructions?

Thanks--

Eddie

When does the sneak peak post, Mr. Todd? For some reason, today I don't have any patience.

Besides, Binny's has a 15% off coupon on all wines and spirits today. I must plan my attack(s).

Essentially, now that you as a Donor have the list, those that are available for early purchasing are available now - I haven't heard otherwise.

15% off is for rookies. Everybody knows they just jack up the prices to cover for it anyway [snort.gif]

The pdf formatted very poorly, Todd. There are no breaks between the offers, and the offers do not line up with the makers of the offers.

I think if you change the Excel cell formatting to have the text align to the top of the cell, it would work much better.

And regarding the offers— OMFG.

Those who are late to the game in enjoying the benefits of becoming a Wine Berserkers Donor: I might not be able to get to you today, as I'm up in LA hacking away at the cello all afternoon (Brahms Requiem with Los Angeles Master Chorale - always wanted to perform that piece - and it's the same one that's keeping me from finishing BerserkerDay with you tomorrow evening when we have another performance). Can't say I've not given you ample notice about the Donor preview benefits, however, with the first post about it going up months ago neener

However, if I don't get it to you in time, know that you will still have the benefit of free shipping on some offers, so it STILL has its advantages. I'll be gone from about Noon Pacific time today.

If you refer to the pdf sent via PM (the only one I got, marked as 'revised'), this is the one to which I refer. It does not work, either in Preview or Adobe Reader on my Mac.

Every Donor has received it, so you will need to check your Private Messages - that's where it was sent.

As for the formatting, sorry it didn't pan out perfectly - the Excel spreadsheet is what I will be using for posting them, and that's the easiest to read.

This is my first day on the forum so I didn't get a chance to sign up earlier/just read about berserker day now! I am now a donor, is there any way I can still get the donor preview list? I know it's late and you are incredibly busy...but in the spirit of "it can't hurt to beg" I thought I'd ask ;)

Thanks for considering!

I'm buying no matter what size it is.......what size is it I wonder? Tokaji and some Mombiz come in .500's could be that I guess. Maybe a 1.0 between a bottle and a magnum, that would be cool.
CJ, It's a 3 Liter
What are the guesses on street value? Very interested in said bottle.
Is "I'm buying no matter what size" legally binding? Yikes this is going to be pricey. I wouldn't think a 3liter is non-commercial is it? Premier Cru usually has a bunch of 3l's.

Have people received emails regarding specific offers? This is in regards to what's listed for Patty Green Cellars. I'm assuming more information will be posted tomorrow...?

Huge early thanks to Todd, all those that assisted and to the participating winemakers and vendors! There are definitely some incredible deals here. [welldone.gif]

The auction items are amazing, especially the Kutch offer, for the sheer fact of what's in circulation. Very interested in seeing what all of those go for.

The coffee from Costa Rica sounds interesting. Wish they had it now so I could stroll over and get a cup! :)

Folks, lets please not be too specific when discussing the sneak preview, please!
Apparently I'm lazy, have a narrow agenda, and offer little in the way of content and substance (RMP) (and have a "penchant for gossip" -KBI)
