Our 2016 Pinot Noir production is the first time that we have enough product to distribute out of state.
We're about to bottle it soon and I would like to not use a capsule/foil on top of the cork due to the extra expense and I prefer the cleaner appearance of wine bottles without the foil. We use the sugar-cane-based cork product from Nomacorc; so I suppose it is some sort of synthetic cork. In Oregon it is acceptable and common to sell wine with without a foil; is this common and allowed in other states?
I heard at some point that California does not allow wine to be sold without a foil, but I have seen wineries that sell their wine without foils.
Thanks
Chris

Not ITB, but buy plenty of OR and WA wine. Have seen wineries from both states sell bottles without foil. From my experience, seems more common in OR, at least for sub-$40 whites & reds, and rose.

ITB is In The Business.
You are fine to sell with no foil. The government accepts cork seal as tamper proof enough.

Lots of California wineries go with no foils, seemingly more all the time.
