TNs: Weekend booze

1981 Conde De Valdemar Rioja Reserva
Initially a bit of bottle stink, which blew off to reveal an earthy, comfortable leather sofa, with good supporting acid backbone. Probably mature with good energy in a middle weight wine.
2011 Domaine Thomas-Morey Chassagne Montrachet ‘Embrazees’ 1er
This opens up witha touch of apricot and honey on the nose, but quickly tightens up with air, revealing a citrus and honeysuckle infused ball of kinetic energy. Very good.

2008 Domaine Marc Roy Gevrey-Chambertin VV
Quite big and dark, with soot and iron. Tannins still a bit burly and the wine seems quite dense. Needs a few years.

2011 Domaine des Vissoux Fleurie 'Poncie’
A cooler profile than the 2009, still lip smacking black cherry fruit of good clarity. Pretty and perfumed.
