i’ve seen a few Hair of the Dog brews around L.A., but they’re so damn expensive — usually in the $10+ range for a single 12oz. bottle. Only from looking at their labels, I cannot figure-out why they’re so expensive – they look like regular-ol’-beers to me. What is the deal with them? Why are they so expensive?
Sort of an early version of what Dogfish Head and BrewDog, etc. are doing now with pushing the envelope. One of the first to do the Eisbock sort of methods to ales to super-concentrate the finished beer.
