Avery 14th Anniversary

Yes, my last bottle. I probably should have held off in the interest of science, but its memory haunts me, so I busted it out.

This is Avery’s dry-hopped, Belgian Dark Strong Ale.

Poured a very dark brown into the goblet. It looks like liquid chocolate with a dark, creamy head! The aromas included chocolate, roasted nuts, burned wheat stalks, dried hops, caramel, and dried fruit. Intense! The body was luscious, creamy, and full with flavors of dark roast coffee, sweet malt, and raisins. Still plenty of “fizz” left in this beer (making me wish more that I had left it alone!), so the finish is vibrant and cleansing. I’m not sure this could become better with more age, so I drowned my scientific curiosity in unbelievably delicious beer.

Nice. Thanks for the note. Have you tried the 16?

Jason

Sounds right up my alley. Will have to seek an Avery out.
