Cool Bob. Reminds me new Parkers Heritage is inbound too. Finished in Orange Curacao casks in a tribute to Parker and his favorite cocktail, the Old Fashioned, 8 year old bottled at 110 proof.

New allocations of Elijah Craig 18 and 23 are being shipped soon too.

Good time of year for Bourbon lovers.

Except they are harder to find. I have pretty much given up on it sadly.

I was told don't even ask about Birthday Bourbon. I'll remember that line when they need to move some Jack Daniels at year end.

I'm finding a bit more on the shelves these days. Nonetheless, I find I buy bourbon faster than I drink it, though as we transition into fall, my consumption should increase.

That's too bad, because I would love to find a bottle of the '18. I saw a shelf price on base for $50 (!!!) a bottle. The clerk said they sold the case to the first customer that came in. [soap.gif]

I just stumbled across three bottles of the Four Roses 130th Anniversary in an ABC store while out of town. Picked up all three and look forward to trying one soon, especially since I've seen it compared to Al Young's 50th, which is the best American whiskey I've ever had.

Blantons arrives on or around the 15th and is gone by 22nd. Can't speak to how fast stores go thru it after we do.

Old Forester 1920 'Prohibition Style' (115 proof) - awesome stuff. Find it.

This could EASILY be relabeled as some of the BTAC bottles, and frankly wouldn't surprise me if it was. Spectacular - better than Weller 12 by a long shot, to me. I may go buy several more just in case this gets 'discovered' and goes up in price, but Old Forester doesn't (yet) play in that game.
Nice call boss, tried some tonite, really special stuff.

Thanks for the shove, Mike. This is a superb Bourbon, and amazingly smoth given the 115 proof. Tomorrow I will get the 2nd bottle they have at my local store, and hope to get a bottle of the Birthday Anniversary.

I tried this tonight next to Blanton’s Gold and it makes the Blanton’s taste like rotgut (though honestly I’m not a fan of BG). I bought three more which should be a lifetime supply. K&L has it for $55.

My concern about this would be that since it’s NAS they can put anything in the bottle once they have an audience.

The 11 year old was a spring release and the 9 a fall release. Most have said the 9 was the better of the two, but both have been praised.

I finally grabbed a bottle of this, would equate it to a cask-aged Jefferson's Reserve in terms of price, availability & overall quality but not flavor, where the 1920 is quite superior. Should add I'm generally not a fan of overproof bourbons but this one is just delicious.
