I saw MSRP is $70. I’d love to see it for that price.

Anyone got thoughts on the Rabbit Hole Founder’s Collection Mizunara 15 Year? Looks intriguing until I saw the price (RRP $1500!). They must have a very high opinion of their own stuff.

Check out this for a little more info on Mizunara oak and why its price point is astronomically high.

A premium for the product makes total sense but $1500 is pretty steep for the retail price of any new bourbon (after market, sure). Plenty mizunara finished whisk(e)y that doesn’t approach this price.

I like both for different reasons but the gold is delicious. I imagine retail is somewhere around 100 were you to see it on a shelf so 199 isn’t awful.

Been awhile since able to link up with people so this weekend figured I’d crack up some Weller that been saving up to drink. Ended up doing a nice little flight. We threw in a Makers 46 later on to throw in another wheater. I forgot how much I loved the 12 since it’s such a rare occassion these days when I get to try it.

Total PITA trying to get Elmer. I have been trying for close to a year, and finally got 1 bottle a few weeks ago. An ITB friend called me, and said that if I could get there in less than 30 minutes it was mine. I got there in 22.

I was afraid this would happen and seems like it already has - or at least seems to be here in Southern California. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof has been one of my favorite bourbons and would always take solace in the fact I could normally find it on the shelf at a decent price in the face of rising bourbon costs. Last year seems to be the last year I've been able to get the various batches at or somewhat close to retail. For the A121 batch, starting to have a hard time finding it and if I do find it, it's going for $100+ now and even then, it seems to be selling out. Luckily I still have some old batches in the bunker. Is this the case in other areas as well?

If you have access I’d buy every bottle you can. (I’d gladly take one of them :) ) my stash finally ran down to one bottle from 5 years ago and the stuff is impossible now here unless you want to set up a lawn chair at 6am and wait for the liquor store to open. I can’t/won’t do that so I paid the $100 for two bottles online. I felt a bit dirty but there is no hope of randomly finding anything on shelves here anymore. It’s taken the fun out of the chase.

I’m contemplating a Stagg jr purchase now but can’t quite pull the trigger at $200! It’s not a $200 bourbon but I like to have one in the cabinet...

We used to be flush with Weller 107 and SR but even that is drying up now.

Yeah I hear you, I think it's inevitable that I'll end up just ponying up the $100 at some point. The psychology of the price increase gnaws at me as I have no issue purchasing wine at that price (to a certain limit) haha. And to be honest, I might even get more enjoyment from the ECBP at $100 compared to a $100 wine depending on my mood. I luckily have some Stagg Jr. in the bunker still that would normally be gone by now, but with the lack of social gatherings the last year, they still sit there. However, looks like as things open up, I'm sure those bottles won't make it through summer. With the scarcity of these bottles, it's getting harder and harder to reach for a pour of some of my old favorites - CEHT, ETL and of course Weller 12. I did open up a W12 last weekend and it took my back to the good old days haha.

I do find myself really enjoying Wild Turkey Rare Breed and feel that will be my go to going forward.

Is Peerless unobtainium? There’s one one store local here that has like a dozen bottles, but not another store anywhere. It peaked my interest because we don’t see it but I think it was ~$75? What’s the story behind it?

Right around $160k if you own one of each.

I’ve never seen any of those, but I’ve tried the M20 once and it was pretty great. But the M10 for ~$200 was a pretty close experience for a small fraction of the price. The upshot is people are dumb. Sometimes I’m the dumb one. But not on this level.

Yeahhhh. I’m content with my M10s. Crazy to see what a retailer has to do to get a single M10.
