Can spirits in a cork bottle have detectable TCA ?

Never come across it, but it must be possible?

Yes, I had a badly corked bottle of Macallan 12 once.

Yep, had a corked bottle of Vodka I wish I had kept as an example of TCA for sales reps.

doesn’t even need cork for a liquid to be corked. Once had a corked bottle of water at Flagstaff House in Boulder. Somm and I were floored. 83 Sauzet was perfect.

Wife and I bought son a gaming chair for his birthday and hid the large box in our master closet. I walked in and was nearly blinded by the rank stench of trichloroanisole. Not thinking, a day later I chucked a cardigan on the box to re-wear the following evening after getting home from work. Put it on and could not kick the stench of cork taint. It was strong. Moved box to garage, washed clothes in chlorine free bleach and air dried, then also had cardigan dry cleaned.

Had a Dalwhinnie 15 years ago that I wasn’t finding enjoyable, that I finally figured out was corked.

And we had a tube of toothpaste recently that was corked.

And don’t get me started on carrots.

I have a pair of corked shoes. Very difficult.

Can we call it corked if there’s no cork?

Don’t suppose wrapping them in Saran Wrap is terribly viable.

Yes, I’ve had lots of corked spirits bottles.
