Dudognon 40yr “Heritage” Cognac
Beautiful light golden brown color.
Wonderful spicy nose of caramel, lemons, tea and mahogany.
Smooth, decadent, tropical, ripe plum fruit entry led to a very, VERY long dry, rancio laden, pineapple aftertaste.
There’s quite a bit of luscious, rich fruit especially considering it’s age.
Less intense than the Tesserons but with just as long (or even longer) a finish.
This REALLY goes down easy and is very dangerous to drink.
I love this spirit and is right up there in quality with the Tessies……
All of their cognacs are good, one of the best producers in cognac. I really like the 1976 bottling but that’s hard to find now. They make a Christmas bottling every year which is amazing if you can find it. They tend to work with the same growers every year so they’re very consistent.
Just ordered my 2nd bottle of this beauty from them.
For others, if you’ve never ordered from Astor, than the fact you would get free shipping (around $20) makes this the cheapest source to get this Cognac in the world (especially when you consider that foreign sources provides a 700mL bottle vs Astor’s 750 ml)
