I Have a Splitting Headache

We finally went to the Milk Room the other night. It is in the Chicago Athletic Association (http://www.lsdatcaa.com/milk-room). Very small room, only about a dozen people allowed in at a time. You generally have to buy tickets to get in to the room in advance. And it ain’t cheap. We spent about $240 for 4 drinks, and a couple of small appetizers. However, we had a GREAT time, although not sure I need to do it again.

Their thing is they use high-end spirits, and they specialize in bottles of old liquor. They have a huge menu of spirits, with lots of bottles going back into the 1960’s and 70’s.

Anyway, I started with a Sazerac using some old bourbon, and finished with a glass of 1984 Four Roses served neat. That’s it. My wife had an Old Fashioned and then some Rum drink.

Next morning I had a SPLITTING headache. Two cocktails should not have gotten to me.

Question, think old spirits would have anything to do with it? Did they allow more “tails” back then?

Thoughts?
