Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
I have a feeling I'm going to end up with a bottle of Blanton's haha. Or even worse, shut out of anything.

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Any word on when this drawing goes down? I’m interested to hear if anyone actually gets anything worthwhile.

FAQ site still says late February... I expect to strike out again... Maybe I'll get the opportunity to buy a bottle of Blantons in reward my loyalty, lol

Thank you. The information is helpful but Total Wine keep finding new ways to screw with this program: “we won’t tell you exactly when or what you’re buying until we decide... but we’re giving you a two week window during a pandemic to turn up to a highly trafficked store and purchase it. Enjoy!”

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
LOL... Pretty accurate summary of their program. Once I hit grand reserve last year, I've shifted my buying to other stores almost entirely because of the changes to this program... And have no plans of going back.BenW wrote: ↑February 9th, 2021, 8:14 pm Thank you. We’re in the back half of February now... I assume no-one has heard anything yet?

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Weird system. I have far fewer than 40,000-75,000 points. TW should do better.
Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Shut out as well. How do they not even have enough Blanton’s to offer everyone a bottle? This sucks. I can’t believe I’m still surprised by this.

Got a Blantons, could be a hell of a lot worse. Don't know if it's worth getting grand reserve for though...

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
I got a Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year. I think I had over 200K in points but I bought 2019 Boudreaux futures through them.
Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Got a 20 year. Pretty psyched. I had a lot more points last year than this year and was empty handed last go round. Nature of a lottery I guess...

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Nice! The lotteries are state specific right? (So I’d be competing against everyone from California, right?)

Believe they are state specific. Got lucky with a Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye (in Delaware).

Got a W12 in TX. Happy to pay $35 for it as I haven't seen it available for some time.

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Yeah, nothing here. I had enough points for Grand Reserve, but I don't think that it included my 2019 futures. I tried calling over the holidays, but could never get someone to answer. Next year. Hahaha.

Got a Blanton's. Better than nothing but I don't really love it for $65.

Also got a Blanton's. Good friend with 50,000 points got one too. Last year I got a RVW '12. The only thing that seemed fair was a friend who was shut out last year got a WLW this year. He's happy. The strange thing is we hear employees are "lucky" and getting better stuff than the customers.

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
That has to be anecdotal though... it's not like TW employees are literally picking raffle tickets at each store.Bruce Rudman wrote: ↑February 24th, 2021, 5:51 am Also got a Blanton's. Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
I got this email.
Priority Access update
Thank you for being a Grand Reserve Member and signing up for the 2020 Priority Access to Pappy Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. We wanted to let you know about an update on the selection timeline.
Our team is working hard to get these Whiskeys as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, it’s taking longer than expected so we’ve had to revise our timeline for selection to late March.
Once we receive our supply, enrolled Grand Reserve members will be randomly selected to buy each Whiskey available.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Stay tuned to your email and Rewards account for updates and results. And thanks again for being a Grand Reserve member.

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Blanton’s is singlehandedly the most overrated bourbon, even at $65. Great for taters. Only thing I from Blanton’s is the Gold.

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
I just picked up my bottle of Stagg-first time I have gotten a bottle through this process. Not sure how many points I had last year, but I did buy a lot of 2019 Bordeaux futures-does that count toward this?

got a weller 12 finally this year. by the way I know a lot of employees who work there. not one has ever won a bottle in any year that they, the employees, have been eligible. to much to lose to fix it

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
Do the people you know what does TW do with the unclaimed bottles? When I picked mine up yesterday they had a clipboard with likely 30 pages of names/bottles on it. Maybe 60% were crossed off. I think the deadline for pickup is 3/8. I would assume employees would get a shot at them?

Re: Total Wine Pappy Offer
for bottles that were not claimed by the deadline, I believe they held for next years lottery. at least that is what they did the last 2 years. also heard that they might recycle them and re-raffle this year. but that info is worth what you paid for it
