Best Zin producer

Other… For me so far it would be Scherrer followed by Rafanelli. I like them a little leaner and less oaky. Ridge Zins are eventually pretty nice but seem pretty oaked up on release. That said, I’m not a regular Zin drinker.

Rafanelli
Nalle
Scherrer

Zinfanpol ?

No Scherrer … No vote!

Missing too many producers that deserve note.

Scherrer, Scott Harvey, Rafanelli, Brown, and so forth…my guess is if you put “Other” as an option your responses would be heavily filled in there.

To be added the criteria is that there primary product is zin and they have at least 4 different bottles. Its not the best zin wine, its the best producer.

Did I miss anyone who makes at lest 4 zin wines who should be on here

Zinbitch!

I am reminded of this thread: http://www.wineberserkers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=98379

Flawed Poll!

If you are going to include Rosenblum then all bets are off.
Carol Shelton
Bella
Dasche
Valdez Family
Wine Guerrilla
Swan
Mauritson
Talty

Didn’t we just do this?

+1 on “Other”.

I voted for Rosenblum.
Wait, this is 1993, right?

I change my mind about many things, but in regards to who THE best Zinfandel producer is I’ve been strangely consistent for close to 10 years: Carlisle [cheers.gif]

No vote - too many missing, principally my favorite, Scherrer

Scherrer may be impossible to beat, especially properly aged OMV and Shale.

The OP specified minimum 4 bottlings. Wouldn’t that disqualify Scherrer?

I could almost swear that there is another thread almost about this same exact thing

Go ahead and swear. Same OP, too. Best zin producer - WINE TALK - WineBerserkers

I’m not going to vote in this one.

Now, now…let’s not get all Zinbitchy.
