TNR: 2006 Duhart Milon....

Impressions please…

From the beginning of June:

Duhart-Milon-Rothschild 2006:
First let me say that I have liked much of what I have tasted from this vintage so far. As a comparison however the vintage does not stack up to '05. On paper the scores may similar but the wines are not. This wine is a perfect example. The '05 was a revelation. Intense, rich . . . honestly the best wine ever created by this estate. This wine is worlds away. Sure it is nice, but it is no '05. Globular black fruits are intermixed here with notes of cedar(too much), truffle, iodine(too much) and tobacco. I don’t expect this wine to last a super-long time or to be exceptional for a big window of time either. Overall slightly disappointing, but still worth a shot at a good price (not happening much in this vintage unfortunately!). 89 points

Thanks John,
I’ve been a fan of the previous vintages, especially '03 and '05. I’ll make sure I try before I buy on this one.
