What Burgundy producer produces wines with the best aromatics?

I vote for Drouhin. I suspect it will not be a popular choice but I think so.

And by “best” I mean “favorite”.

DRC, Dujac.

Drouhin, certainly, and in the old days Faiveley and Montille. DRC yes, but they don’t come my way too often.

Berry, what is your favorite Drouhin wines? Just curious. I have a big stash of them as well. I really like Petit Monts, Amoureuses, CM 1er, Beaune Greves and Cote de Beaune.

Volnay
Cote de Beaune
Chorey les Beaune
Petite Monts
Chambolle 1er
Musigny
Amoureuses

Some of those are too expensive now for me though

Yes, It’s a shame about the prices. I haven’t tried the Volnay, will look for it.

Hubert Lignier (notably pre-2003). Also love Drouhin and Dujac. I’m sure that I am forgetting a few…

Dujac, DRC, Liger-Belair

Echo that!

Yes, plus Leroy.

+1 to both Alan and Kevin.

Truchot, and for me there is not even a close second.

Does stem inclusion seem to be a common thread here? Or is that oversimplified/too reductive?

Ponsot and Rousseau aren’t too shabby either.

I don’t think Drouhin, Ponsot or Truchot use(d) stems. Does Rousseau?

I gathered he was referring to the DRC, Dujac, Leroy comments.

Also Montille. For some reason, I though Drouhin didn’t completely destem in all vintages, and I think Ponsot and Rousseau were suggested after my question . . . the answer to which appears to be “naah, no common thread”.

I could very well be wrong but I thought they destemmed.
