I like Washington Cab, but It was the two years in 100% NEW oak that made it a "no!" for me. I agree about annoying cellar tracker scores. Maybe CT shouldn't factor them if the notes aren't public/non-existent?
Agree 2 years new oak is a bit much. Maybe try it in 15 years.

Seems like there are some Loire fans on this thread... coming up today: Pascal et Alain Lorieux Chinon 'Thélème' 2018 for $20. 94 points from WE. Any thoughts? Doesn't seem like an amazing deal, but it's hard to find a variety of Chinon.

I'm a Loire fan, and my thoughts are that $20, even if not particularly expensive, is a risk I'm unwilling to take on a totally unknown Loire red. My tolerance is a bit higher on whites as even a middling Loire white is usually at least refreshing. However, if you are considering it might be worth at least searching the board and seeing if there are any positive notes on the producer.

We've drunk through a few bottles with no complaints. Good structure with plenty of fruit and underlying tannins so worth short term aging if they last.

The last Gypsy Dancer I had was much more on the restrained side than the pre-2010 ones I've tasted. Todd Hamina had a hand in some of these wines. Maybe he is around to comment. 2016 was a beautiful vintage in the WV.

I think that's a great price for this wine. 2016 was an already ripe year so we let that shine through. I am not sure how ripe fruit could be bad, unless one enjoys bitter astringency. You could buy these wines and burn through a bunch of them over the holiday season/lock down.

If you have any specific questions, please ask. Thanks.

Opened and aerated a bottle for about an hour last night. Very nice example and ready to drink. This would work well with beef, lamb or even pork.

I'm a huge fan of Cadence, the only thing holding me back is the fact that I've got some much cab/cab blends from DeNegoce, but this should be a terrific wine. I may still grab a few...

They seem to have a lot of Rhone wines from lesser known producers and usually I shy away from them as I have found no luck with the lesser knows from Burgundy on WTSO

I wonder if the Moet bottlings would improve with age. I feel about VC Yellow Label that you do with Moet, but have found that they're much more interesting with at least five years of bottle age. That's what I usually do when WTSO has VC mags for $85. I lay them down for a few years.
