TN: 2008 Domaine Guy Roulot Meursault Les Meix Chavaux

  • 2008 Domaine Guy Roulot Meursault Les Meix Chavaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (7/25/2012)
A wine of power and purity, richness and restraint, grunt and guile, force and fidelity and as I have run out of two opposing traits starting with the same letter that describe this wine I’m moving on to the aroma and flavour descriptors. Minerals, lemons, a little butter, some candied pear, pure white peach, fennel, mint and white flowers are all here. It has great line, grapefruit acidity and a finish that is laden with chalk. I like this one quite a lot.

Jeremy,

Thanks for the note on this wine. Did you decant this wine or was this a pop n’ pour?

Jeremy usually finishes the bottle in a single gulp so pop and pour sounds right.

Hehe…lol.

Was looking at some of my '08’s the other day, but ended up opening an '05 Charmes instead.

Good to hear the '08’s are showing well, although I suspect they will still be better with time, thus I decided to leave them alone…

Hurtful!

We did finish the bottle rather quickly and yes it was a ‘pop and guzzle’ Jeff.

Best Regards
Jeremy
