saw 2017 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly at my local. Grabbed 6 at $20.99 each. Hope the 2017 is more like the 16s than the 15s

Two bottles of the 2015 Ca' del Baio Barbaresco Asili.
Had it at the Chambers Barbaresco tasting this past Saturday and loved the nose.
My next favorite in the lineup was the 2015 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili and I will grab two of those next week.

Cheers!

2006 Copain Kiser En Haut
1991 sequoia grove cabernet

A bunch of Copain was being unloaded on winebid. I was outbid on some 2010s.

Jokes aside is their reputation for premox so bad that you wouldn’t risk buying a 2014 to drink in the next few weeks?

Why? There's so many other producers out there that don't oxidize the moment the sun looks at it.

It’s a terrible situation really. They make a delicious Meursault Perrieres, one that historically aged brilliantly, that they have not been able to keep from premoxing at scary rates. Does anyone have insight into any efforts over the years to fix the problem at Matrot?

I still have 2 bottles of the ‘99 MP that was phenomenal on release but that are almost surely oxidized. Now that I’m thinking about it, probably time to find out for sure.

It’s been a while since I popped an 09, but I went deep in Lanessan in this vintage. One of the more open Lanessans that I have had on release. It’s delicious. Will grab one from storage to check in.

Incidentally, I had a 2015 last week as well. Was not that impressed. 2014 over 2015, no competition.

Not surprised by the Lanessan 2015. I have not tasted, but had numerous reports it had gone over to the dark side.

Just bought some mags of 2016 VCC and bottles of Schloss Vollrads TBA 1976.

This is my second time trying it, both times a full bottle evaluated over several nights. It’s not bad it’s just uninteresting. Lower acid than normal, rounder and riper fruit. Again, not bad, just uninteresting, and leaning universal in style. The 2014 I had on overlapping nights is far the better wine.

I have to agree with you on the '14 versus '15 Lanessan. I tried both within a few weeks of each other and '14 was clearly a notch above. There was nothing wrong with the '15, save for being a little short, but the nose made up for it.

Had the 2009 tonight. A little rustic, but drinking great now.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown gave the Lanessan an 86. Galloni gave it an 88, but said it was lacking in depth. It's possible Lanessan was just unsuccessful for the vintage without any regard to the (purported) change in style.

2016 Saint Prefert Auguste Favier
2016 Saint Prefert Charles Giraud

Boosting the 2016 CdP collection a little.
