big jump on the Les Iles Feray pricing. The St Joe is still a relative bargain. I took a case of eachRobert.A.Jr. wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 5:21 am A good day yesterday....

Source Material’s latest offer:
1 bottle each of 2016 and 2017 Daniel Twardowski Pinot Noix “Ardoise”
I’m very curious about these.

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
2014 de la Tour Clos Vougeot VV for $136 a bottle, which seems like a pretty silly price for such old vines and good dirt, considering how much really good grand cru Burgundy fetches lately.
Edit - the Jouan sounds pretty good though

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
Curious what draws you to these? I did a vertical tasting 2011-2016 last year and wasn't impressed enough to buy more of any but the 2015 even though the retailer was giving a great price as the bottles had been sitting in their cellar for years.

I'm not Jay but did try the 2017 a few weeks ago. It was a little 'fluid' and a little blah, well below my past experiences with the 2013 and 2015. Won a 6-pack of 1997 Arns Napa cab at recent HDH auction on an impulsive lowball bid. Opened first bottle tonight; shocked at how youthful and tasty it is. Would have been happy at twice the price.

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
Would appreciate buying advice. I have a $150 gift card to wine.com. I have free shipping.
I’ve only been buying for a few years. Cellar is mostly village Burgundy (Marchand Tawse primarily), village Chablis and Meursault, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz Pinot and Cab, a few BDX (Duhart, Canon), a few champagnes (Egly, Dellamotte). Mostly 15, 16, and 17 vintages.
Could buy more of the above. But there is a lot I haven’t tried.
Any suggestions on wine.com inventory for WA state?
Because it’s a gift card, I can use this on .97 wines, too.
GC burg? PC burg? 08 Comtes? 2010 Dom?

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
It is rare to see this producer and vineyard get much love here. I have collected a few vintages of this particular producer/vineyard and it has always been a good "value" (if there is such a thing in Burgundy). Their price escalation in the past few years have also been quite reasonable.

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
Does Cognac count? A bottle each of Tesseron 76 and 53.
A friend gave me several bottles of already opened brown liquor (Bourbon, Armagnac, Cognac, Calvados) as he no longer drinks the hard stuff. I was poking around last night and one of them was a 3/4 full bottle of Navarre Vieille Reserve Cognac! I forgot I had that. I really need to inventory my liquor.

Score on 4, 11 and 14!!!! Have not tried 15, didn’t buy much from that vintage. Bought lots of 14 on Mark’s reco, but that’s my kind of vintage anyway. I flat out love 2011, could be WOTV. Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
Thanks for this info. I put in an order with the same retailer this week. It is the seventh different 2019 Falkenstein I have purchased. I remember Lars Carlberg posted that the NC importer, Piedmont Wine Imports, had selected the AP11 before it received the MFW review and would be receiving one of the largest allocations. Knowing that, I tried to find some of the AP11 in North Carolina a few months ago, but I must have not been doing a very good job looking. The retailer you mentioned looks to have a good supply. They were easy to deal with over email and are waiting to ship until better weather. Now only if I could find some Gisela.G. Curd wrote: ↑February 6th, 2021, 2:54 pm Wow. North Carolina did great this time around! I ordered from a site called durham.wine. It's my first order with them so I will hold out suggesting them, but the owner seemed highly knowledgeable and the price was excellent. I did ask him if it as ok to share his information and he said yes.
