And apparently because I have limited impulse control, picked up a case of 2018/2019 from J&B.

2019 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spatlese Feinherb Ur-Alte Reben
2019 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Spatlese
2019 Emrich-Schoenleber Monzinger Fruhlingsplatzchen Grosse Gewachs

Man, those German wines are hard to type out. Even without all of the special characters.

I couldn’t resist what appears superficially to be a perfect bottle (very light color, fill into neck, visible bottom of cork not soaked through or crumbling) of 1988 Climens.

They came from a cellar in Yorkshire, but I don't know the specifics. I bought them from the pictures alone - they weren't very expensive.

I have some older Avery bottling from the the 1970s, and they were amazing. He had a reputation for picking the better barrels and chalking his name on them.

Yes, I've also had some great ones from the 60s and 70s. A shame he wasn't quite as picky with his corks as he was with his barrels. Still, I've had fewer corked wines from Avery than many others, apart from BBR perhaps; it's a no-brainer when these do come up from time to time. Overall they're well worth looking out for.

5 * Chateau Meyney ‘86 and 6 * ‘89
Had gotten intrigued after reading the reviews on this board and it turns out there is a gold mine of old Bordeaux 30km away from my place who had them in stock. Very much looking forward to trying them!

2018 Joel Gott California Cabernet Sauvignon. $13 We shall see how it is. Hoping the stellar vintage and glut of available declassified fruit and made wine from otherwise higher quality vineyards made their way into this bottling. Always looking for a good California Cabernet Tuesday night wine. [cheers.gif]

1999 Ch le Boscq, St. Estephe, out of a bargain bin. Not bad at all.
