I know Maureen! Really poor planning on my part. This purchase put a dent in my wallet at the exact wrong time. I haven't ordered the Source Material offer yet. I was actually looking forward to that offer and the offer looks great and very fairly priced. I need to make sure that my wife doesn't get too mad with my recent "investments" :). I need to take Brian's advice and get a secret bank account.

Both great wines. fun ones to taste side-by-side, will give you a good idea of Vosne vs Chambolle

recently found 2016 Sociando Mallett at Trader Joe's for $40. After buying one to try (it's good) I went back and cleaned-out that location. I assume bottles remain at other locations, however. Good luck hunting!

After being a good little boy for the last 10+ days of October, I fell off the wagon with a mixed case and one-half of 2019 German riesling (well, and one 2017 German riesling), with a mix of praedikats, stressing the kabinetts. I also bought two GGs (2017 Clemens Busch and 2019 Donnhoff Niederhauser). I'm still feeling my way around dry German rieslings (I quite like the Austrian version), so purchasing is somewhat tentative.

I've never used them before - UK site, for clarity, but they've got 6 more cases at that price. It seemed like a ludicrously good price all things considered. I dont really know the site but at that price point and it seems to be reasonably legit, its worth a chance really.

Once I've verified the wine is real and is transferred over to a company and storage system I have experience with and trust, I might buy a few more cases. They have no complaintst on this forum or the wider web through a cursory search. I guess their business model is a bit 'risky' - e.g. you list for sale third party wines in various professional storage without evidence of proof of it, on the basis that if a firm order is unfulfilled you buy it and then charge the false seller the difference. I guess they do minimise their exposure by relying on photos and documentation tto know the wine is real.

The truth will out when the 12 bottles hit my storage account ;-)

I bought from them this summer. Took forever for transfer but did get my wine after a couple of months and the price was great. I also bought some 2001 Prum and paid for the inspection photos. The bottles had low fills so I declined the transaction. They refunded me without hassle although again that took a minute. I could easily blame a lot of that on COVID. I would use them again without hesitation.

Thanks, Jason. I did enjoy the 18 I had tonight. As with most of your wines I prefer them with a bit of age and same goes for the 18 Chard. Good that I have 11 bottles left I guess.

Your 06, 10 and 16 chardonnays are still standouts to me among the whites. As for Pinot your 98 was amazing while I still have some older "older" stuff in magnum left including a 68 that I am quite excited about trying - think it will be this Thanksgiving.

Say hi to Ayn and the team.

Thanks for the info Andrew! I'm in no urgency or anything, so timings dont matter - just saw a deal and wanted to take it. Once they land I might take a few more cases!

Was the 2001 Prum in bond? Interesting to be aware of - I suppose less important for an 05 Taittinger as itll only have been in bottle for a few years, but good to know for older wines.

2 x 1978 Magdelaine (and not the only one here to score this one!)
I got one, too, and an 81 VCC to go with it :)

Hi Chris. What is your suggested time frame for drinking this one? Thanks.
Not Chris, but wait 3-5 years to see it at its best, even if it's already approachable.
Thank you, William.
They are fantastic now, if young and slightly taut, they are still energetic and expressive. I think William is spot on about when it will be primo.

Love these wines, the village Meursault may be my favorite white burgundy at the price point, and possibly my favorite Bourgogne Blanc as well. Haven't tried 18 yet....

I took three bottles of that 81 VCC. I’ve been really happy with 81 Bdx recently. La Conseillante is sublime.

I put an initial bid on those Maggies but didn’t chase them. Thought about the VCC. What about the 81 Trotanoy?
