3b 2017 Mugneret Gibourg Echezeaux. My first 2017 red burgundy purchase.
I am too old to even think to drink this at close to full maturity but it was a good price.
Good show! I am pulling back big on wines like that too now for the same reason, but I would go after MG Echezeaux if I could even find it around here anymore at a half-way decent price. On the rare occasion it pops up, the asking price is well over $500.
this was $428.50 per. after my purchase the shop changed the price to $625 per bottle

A case of splits of Legras. I'm finally seeing the value in half bottles, in Champagne at least. Splitting a bottle of bubbles with the wife at Sunday brunch just tanks my entire afternoon.

I think my next purchase should be a bullet proof vest, because my wife is going to try to kill me when all the boxes start showing up!

2018 Wayfarer Chardonnay
2017 Vessigaud Pouilly-Fuisse Vers Pouilly
2016 Guffens-Heynan Pouilly-Fuisse Premier Jus des Hauts de Vignes
2017 Catena Chardonnay White Stones

A lot of chardonnay. I know some of you are thinking, really, Pouilly-Fuisse? I can't believe I actually got into a bidding war over Pouilly-Fuisse...and lost. I was buying with an eye towards holiday gifts. My mother in recent years has developed issues with drinking red wine, so the reds I have been gifting her over the years have been accumulating in the basement and the (fewer) whites I give are basically gone. The last time I was home, we had to use a Rhys chardonnay for cooking because it was the only dry white in the house, and that's not the kind of wine you want to boil off. So, she will be getting some chardonnay. More tomorrow, when the Rhys offer comes out. She gets to keep her Bearwallow chardonnay vertical going.

I had a trial bottle of the Catena this week, and it was really good.

2002 Taittinger CdC. I have no willpower. I've been longing/lusting after it for a few months, I was talking with a guy from a store that carried it on another matter, and then next thing I knew, it was in my shopping cart.
