A few cases of different vintages and vineyards of Monnier-Perreol St Joseph. I bought 15s through 18s.

Love those, great grab! The Pierre Blanche is to me one of the greatest QPR for this appellation. By the way, I am not normally a great aficionado of Northern Rhone whites but his 2015 St-Jo blanc was a real hit for me.

Decided I want focus in what I buy instead of impulsively purchasing all offers that pass by. I failed...

bought a case Tour Carnet '15 @ 50% off (could not resist this )

and a friend decided to drive up to Piemonte and now drives home with a case of Manzone Dolcetto d'Alba '19 and a few bottles of Ca' del Baio Barbaresco Autinbej '17

Hows 17 in Piemonte?

It was a very hot vintage compared to 2016
and 2018.2016 should be the Best vintage in
the last decade. With the langhe nebbiolo 2018
I have tasted 2018 is going to be a very good vintage too. [cheers.gif]

If you can find the Pombeiras bottling of the Guimaro it is a stunner. Beautiful aromatics and meaty, sauvage structure that reminded me of a Northern Rhone.

3b 2017 Mugneret Gibourg Echezeaux. My first 2017 red burgundy purchase.
I am too old to even think to drink this at close to full maturity but it was a good price.
Good show! I am pulling back big on wines like that too now for the same reason, but I would go after MG Echezeaux if I could even find it around here anymore at a half-way decent price. On the rare occasion it pops up, the asking price is well over $500.

Well done. Have you had the 1998 lately? We opened it at the Magdelaine tasting and it was a baby- but towered over most of the other vintages. I was lucky to get a case last year before the prices really started edging up.

I haven’t had it for several years, but then it also showed brilliantly at a vertical even outclassing the 2000.
