Tatomer. At least with New World Rieslings I know they can make them dry, something the Germans seem incapable of. [wink.gif]

Just ordered my first pre-order of Riesling from Down to Earth. It won't be confirmed until August, but I wanted to share because it's my first pre-order ever (other than allocation's direct from a winery).

After tasting my first bottle of 2016 Greer, I went back and ordered another 3-pack. Serious Napa Cabernet! I also think that with some bottle age, it could become quite special, and more importantly, I feel that it has the depth of fruit, tannin, and acid to support improving over time.

I bit on the Chambers offering. Lol, imagine an estate in Loire that I’ve never heard of with 115-year old Cot vines. Bought the Cot VV and the Cot/Cab Franc blend.

WTF is Cot, by the way?

PS. And some more 2016 Chasse Spleen in 375.
I think Cot is Merlot?
Oh god no, hopefully Rolland didn’t make this
Cot is malbec. Or malbec is cot.

Robert's note has undone my good intentions in deleting all wine emails (including CSW) unread. I'll be visiting the CSW website shortly to order some cot and make this morning's bad behavior even worse.

This one I blame on Amex. What sort of inconsiderate credit card offers $50 off any purchase from Benchmark Wines of $250 or more? From "it can't hurt to just look" to "there's no way I'm getting this purchase down to $250" I picked up:

Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Auslese 2002 375ml (they don't specify the number but since it wouldn't have made any difference...)
Reinhold Haart Piesporter Goldtropfchen Auslese GK Auction 2001 375ml
J.J. Christoffel Erben Urziger Wurzgarten Auslese**** Auction 1999 375ml
Podere Sante Marie Colleoni Brunello di Montalcino 2007
Podere Sante Marie Colleoni Brunello di Montalcino 2006
Selbach Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spatlese feinherb Ur Alte Reben 2012

The only section of the cellar racks where we have extra space is champagne mags. So that's the only thing we're allowed to buy right now. The 750s were slips. Oops.

I liked it more than this Leve guy, who gave it an 88:
Quite bright, this medium/full bodied, fresh, sharp, crisp, cassis and cranberry filled wine is made for lovers of older, classically styled Bordeaux. The wine leans to the cedar, tobacco leaf and piquant red fruit oriented side of the style range.

I did a small 2016 horizontal of $30-50 wines last year including Meyney, Cantemerle, Le Pape and a few others and the Chasse-Spleen was my favorite. I bought it.

Did Robert send out the 2019 JJ Prum offer officially yet? Haven’t seen the email.
I received it this morning as well. I wrote to him on Monday about joining the mailing list so I was likely fresh on his mind.

I have been taking your advice Brian and picking up some other producers as well. I was able to find schloss leiser, reinhart haart, and Dr. Thanisch, and will get some willi schaefer as well as soon as I can. Another member on here is local and is able to get selections from Schaefer and leiser as well as others.

I am somewhat new to pre-orders so I am not sure if I am supposed to share prices on here. If it's totally ok to share prices I would be glad to, I just want to make sure that it isn't against any rules. I assume it's not against any rules, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

I have been working on backfilling as well. Congrats on finding 2010's. I have found it to be actually kind of hard to back fill to start when you don't have many connections (like myself).

2001 La Conseillante. Not the price I wanted but I finally internalized that the price is just going up.

You can’t go wrong with 2015 and 2017. I almost emailed a second order with in stock stuff but had to restrain myself.

Edit- you talked me into it. Just put in an order for 15’s and 17’s (3-4 different ws and 1 gh I believe).

A small pick up order from chambers st. I went to order the cots, wanted another prosecco, decided to try the same producer's spumante, and saw that the tb brin chevre was in stock. The 2018 but that never lasts long.

Grange Tiphaine 18 Clef Rouge
Grange Tiphaine 18 Cot VV
Il Fortunato 18 Prosecco
Il Fortunato 17 Rosato Spuman
Tue-Boeuf 18 Brin de Chèvre
Ripe fruit isn't necessarily a flaw.

2 cases of NV Bele Casel Asolo Prosecco Superiore. We use it for amaro/Campari spritzes. Can't risk running low.

A case of 2019 Cleto Chiarli Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Vigneto Cialdini. I don't have pizza very often, but when I do....

2x 1980 Joseph Voillot Pommard 1er Cru Pezerolles. Stronger vintage in Côte de Nuits than Côte de Beaune, but this has such good provenance I reckon it will still be pretty tasty.

2x 1972 Michelot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains - great color and fills.

I was considering trying the Grange Tiphaine Cot. We are head over heals about their Chenin Blanc, and so are our neighbors. Does the Cot more resemble Cabors or South America?
