From Europe I assume? The Rollin 17s are great.
Yeah. Was disappointed they didn't have more of the 2017s. Hopefully 2018 is as good.

Naw man. I just started collecting seriously last year. Going to be a long time before I have a cellar like some of the big boys here.
As someone who also just got serious, best tip is to go slow and really assess what you want to put together as a collection. With my current storage options, I’m targeting 300-500 bottles and ok taking 3-5 years to get there. My goal is to have an amazing bottle ready to open for any occasion and any meal, but also have great bottles to drink along the way.

It’s a journey and you get to drink amazing wine and meet neat people along the way!

From what I have seen recently you have a great start to the serious collection. I love seeing some of the awesome stuff you and others purchase. I guess I am still in the honeymoon phase of joining Wineberserkers champagne.gif The big collectors on here give me something to strive for.

I promise I won't post anymore Riesling purchases any time soon. I feel like I am posting too often. But I had to share the 2001's.

Nice buy! The 375 might be really nice right now, but the 750 needs another 5-10 years.

Wow [worship.gif] . That is an awesome selection. I am thoroughly jealous.

Indeed, the Kabinetts - especially the Alte Reben - are quite special
I couldn't pass these up, especially given the price and my worry that I'll start getting priced out of some of other MSR favorites. Loved the couple bottles of Falkenstein I've had in the past but they've been hard to find.
That's a nice selection of 2019s. Is that an offer from a shop? So far, only one of our eight US importers has shipped their selections. The others should have the wines picked up in the coming weeks.

When my 2018 offer came in between my hesitation over the vintage, my cellar reduction goals and the post-tariff pricing I passed for the first time in years.

On the other hand despite my goal of buying nothing in the month of July I made the mistake of checking winebid yesterday and picked 1@ of

2010 Rollin Pernand Vergelesses "Sous Fretille"
2010 Rollin Pernand Vergelesses "Les Vergelesses"
2014 Calsac "Rochefort"

A 2016 Pernand Vergelesses Blanc opened on Saturday was very good but I really should have given it more time in the cellar.
Ripe fruit isn't necessarily a flaw.

My paraphrase of the Envoyer email: "Vineyard purchased by Pierre-Yves Colin and Etienne Sauzet. Very hilly with dense clay soils. Ripens about a week later than the rest of Chassagne, which develops a surprising amount of complexity. Pierre-Yves decided this was too special to go into his Bourgogne Blanc."

Putting aside 2019 Bordeaux (I'll wait the end of EP), I bought
6 x Grand Puy Lacoste 2016
6 x Siran 2015
1 x Coutet 2013
2 x Groffier Bourgogne 2016

and I'm gearing up for a big order of Roc des Anges. The whites are absolutely fabulous, their "rosé" could fool anyone for another great white as well. Red are good also but haven't tasted everything.

Also, I should stop buying stuff. EP 2019 and basta !

1 x 2015 JJ Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese GKA 375ml
1 x 2013 JJ Prum Riesling Auslese Graacher Himmelreich GKA 375ml
1 x 2012 Joh Jos Prum Riesling Auslese Wehlener Sonnenuhr GKA 375ml

It's getting really tough to find any Joh Jos Prum past vintages online. At least in the states. There are few stores in Europe, China, and, of course, plenty in Germany, but I will have to settle for 375 ml when I find a good deal.

Are you just searching online? They seem to show up fairly often in retailers cellar lists, auctions, etc. They just dont stick around.

A few bottles of the Jose Dhondt Champagne Rosé de Saignée offered by envoyer. Has anyone had the wine? I have enjoyed Dhondt wines in the past and love me some rosé at a price.

Yes for the most part. I have only been searching for a couple of months so and I am fairly new to the auction/retail cellar lists so I am likely not looking in the right places . It is also extremely likely I am being far to impatient in finding prior vintages. I will make sure to check the auction sites out as often as possible. Unfortunately K&L doesn't ship to Indiana for some reason even thought it's legal to ship wine to Indiana. If you have any suggestions for a newbie I would be very appreciative if you want to PM me so I don't derail the discussion. Thanks for the heads up. I probably just need to cool my jets :).

2015 Dame de Montrose in .375. A year after my supposed cutoff but the halves are going faster than expected.

4x 2017 LT

I know people are pooh-poohing the 2017 DRCs as not up to par with 2015/2016, but I had the opportunity to go big with it, so I decided to take it. We'll see in a few years if it was smart or dumb.
