It was a lot of money for a .375, but basically a third of what a 750 sells for now, for a very nice 15 year old burg. Probably should have asked for them all too!RyanC wrote: ↑May 4th, 2020, 7:23 amI asked for all of these. Got none. Too slow. Oh well.

2006 Jean-Marc Pillot Chevalier-Montrachet for $250, which seemed a lot fairer than the >$500 asking prices I've seen for the 2017

I also just bought some .375s - of Ledru's NV Brut. Won't be many more releases, surely...
Also:
3x 2005 Figeac
1x 1995 Coulée de Sérrant (as if it's not enough rolling the premox dice in Burgundy) and another of the Coulée de Sérrant sweet wine of the same vintage
1x 1992 Pothier-Rieusset Pommard Rugiens
and a bottle of 1960s Campari

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
Almost all of my non-champagne purchases for the last 2 years have been in 375 (and a lot of the champagne purchases too). Picked up some 2008 Marechale a couple of years ago for a song and they've been terrific. Hard to keep my hands off them.PCLIN wrote: ↑May 4th, 2020, 10:02 pmExactly, I wish more Burgundy Producers would bottle their wines in .375s.RyanC wrote: ↑May 4th, 2020, 8:53 amThey were a steal, and I never have enough .375s.Neal.Mollen wrote: ↑May 4th, 2020, 8:48 am

Some people do believe there's evolution of complexity in the bottle. Also, the formula and ingredients were different back then. Plus it's cool.Mark Golodetz wrote: ↑May 5th, 2020, 5:47 amDoes Campari change in the bottle with age?William Kelley wrote: ↑May 5th, 2020, 5:21 am I also just bought some .375s - of Ledru's NV Brut. Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
I think it's more that how is has been made has changed over time. Generally these sorts of things have not improved. I rarely drink spirits but recently opened a Grand Marnier from the 1950s, with the intention of making crèpes suzette, and it was just too good. So much more complex than the contemporary stuff.

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
When my father passed away in 2007, I cleared out his wine and liquor closet. There were only a couple of worthwhile wines. The one great bottle I found in his liquor stash was an unopened bottle of Crown Royal that given the labeling, he would've had to have purchased in Canada. He hadn't been to Canada since the family moved to California in 1960. It was an astounding bottle of whisky.

Darren Delmore Pinot Noir Central Coast, 2019. Per label, 3 barrels produced. First tasted Delmore a few years ago at Falltacular and I've been a customer ever since. He also makes Syrah, but that is part of a later release as I understand it.

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
Thanks, between being pretty fortunate not to be overly affected by the pandemic, not spending money on planned home renovation things and a little bit of luck in the market, I’ve been in the position to be buying when certain friends have been needing to sell, so it has been a bit of a win/win situation; they don’t have to worry about auction fees, fraudulent buyers, or presumably taxes (although that’s just a guess and none of my business/concern). So far seems to be working out well for everyone. A few months ago I likely would never had access to some of these wines at reasonable prices.
