I wonder if all the hype will be worth it.

That's a good idea for a thread. Someone should start one.
Your notes were one of the things that pushed me over the edge to make the purchase.

Off-topic, but Mouches is a great wine to backfill. It's a long-ager, it has long been of high quality, and it really doesn't escalate much in price (probably part because it's Beaune, part because it's Drouhin, and part because there's a fair bit of it made). I paid $149 for the '93, and I recently-ish picked up some '05 and '10 for ~$100/btl. The '17 is in the $115-120 range.
Very nice haul! Not one of those I wouldn’t be pleased to have in my cellarBrian Pinci wrote: ↑April 25th, 2020, 10:52 am 2017 Moreau Naudet Montmains Chablis

I got my offer in February and finally bit on it based on the strength of the La Combe Verte I was able to get my hands on locally, and the fact that I'm realizing in-person tastings of the lineup just aren't going to happen anytime soon (and kidding not kidding if I wait long enough Charlie will buy them out of all their X-Novo). If you don't have an allocation, you should jump on the benefit cases: viewtopic.php?f=85&t=169188
It was you!
Thanks, it's a vintage I still haven't had the chance to try so I'm looking forward to it.
Oops! Just remembered that my unopened case is sitting in the basement. As I don’t remember which wines I ordered, it will be like a Christmas surprise.Geoff F. wrote: ↑April 26th, 2020, 8:47 pmI got my offer in February and finally bit on it based on the strength of the La Combe Verte I was able to get my hands on locally, and the fact that I'm realizing in-person tastings of the lineup just aren't going to happen anytime soon (and kidding not kidding if I wait long enough Charlie will buy them out of all their X-Novo). Really curious to see what you think. I have 11 bottles, have had 3 in the past year. One showed great, two definitely, like a 95 that i just had, suggest more time is necessary. Totally different wine, of course, but I also felt that about a recent 2000 VCC. These struck me as funny since some of the left banks i’ve slowly been popping are opening.Jay Miller wrote: ↑April 27th, 2020, 5:27 amThanks, it's a vintage I still haven't had the chance to try so I'm looking forward to it.
I'll probably open one and put the other one away for a while. Of course I'd rather open it when I"m not the only one drinking so it might be a while anyway.Robert.A.Jr. wrote: ↑April 27th, 2020, 2:24 pmReally curious to see what you think.
