That and for locals with good old-school tastes might want to get together for. Plus, it's colder now and that pairs well with these wines.

Did a bunch of Barolo to start a cooler in France and was happy about getting that going. But here in CA, I was happy to have Wine-Searcher send me a ping that five bottles of 2007 Ceritas Porter-Bass Chardonnay were available at K&L for $60 per. A wonderful backfill opportunity considering they sold for $50 at release in 2010. Exterior of bottles look perfect and color seems just right. I’ll report back.

Just got back to Manila after a few days in HK for meetings. No material time to shop for wines (plus I had only a small bag); so I just picked up a few bottles of bubbly.

Should be interesting. I have one 2005 left from my first purchase. Color on it might be a little suspect, but my fingers are crossed. A 2008 I drank earlier this year was quite nice.

Alan, always some risk. I am typically reluctant to buy five bottles of what I know was likely a six bottle purchase. The fear being the one they drank went down their drain and the five I have go down mine. I looked at CT and took a shot at it. I, too, have the 2005 (3 750’s and a mag) and have high hopes there too. My mag looks like a Christmas snow globe when you tip it. I mentioned it to John in passing and we both decided no big deal - tartrates. I sourced it direct from them when they had the library release that you may recall.

Holiday coupons and deals have started to build. Combined with me starting up a cellar, means that I have been buying quite a bit (wine.com wineaccess.com WTSO LastBottle and WineText). wine.com has been my preferred since you can get a good deal without being limited to the deal a day site selections. Im mostly trying to begin learning about burgundy and jump on opportunities for some ageable bordeaux (along with ops here and there for immediately drinkable).

I am worthless and weak! Other than a gift card, I haven't bought a single bottle of wine since January with the goal of no new purchases until January 2020.

2014 Haut Bailly at $58.99 was just to tempting to pass. Bought 3 of the 7 on the shelf.
Broke down for the second time this year. 3x Neal Family Cab Sav 2014. Couldn't pass at $31 each. Been awhile since I've had Neal and look forward to popping one soon.

In my experience, Wine.com usually has some of the worst prices (but not always), unless you're using a large promo code. My favorite online store for a combination of good selection and great prices is JJ Buckley. You can become a "private client" for free and get unlisted prices that are even lower (sometime much lower) than their listed prices.
