I don’t consider things “bought” until they arrive in storage or my apartment (cough, Premier Cru, cough), so this past week had lots of purchases. Most notably a few bottles of 99 Montilles, bottle of 82 Gruaud Larose and 2 bottles of one of the two wines that were Burgundy epiphanies for me - 1990 Pousse d’Or Cailleret 60 Ouvrees.

Got a surprise text that LdH whites were on the shelf at my LWS. To my even happier surprise, there were 2 rosados as well..

3x 2009 LdH Gravonia blanco
2x 2009 LdH Tondonia rosado
1x 2015 Tertre Roteboeuf to get that 6th bottle discount..

Pretty thrilled

This week was French:

2009 Clos de la Tour Clos Vougeot VV
2010 Lignier-Michelot Clos de la Roche (yes, I know not the desired Lignier, but considerably less expensive)
2003 Cos d'Estournel

The previous week was US, mostly merlot:

2012 and 2013 Kapcsandy Roberta's
2013 Blankiet Rive Droite
2012 Realm Bard

And a bunch of 2016 chianti (well, also a Cepparello).

1998 Markus Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Eiswein
1999 Zilliken (Forstmeister Geltz) Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel Auction
2006 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Beerenauslese

More 08 Cristal and 08 Dom

HEB has them right now for $193 and $135 respectively if you buy 6. Literally the only good thing about buying wine in Texas.

Assuming it's the same one, $120 from Envoyer. I also raised my hand for a few. And now I need to stop buying wine for a while.

Cellaraiders? I was really tempted by the Barthods and would have pulled the trigger if it weren't for recent profligate spending and my decision to buy last-minute tickets to the World Series tonight.

No more so than any other high quality retailer/auction house. Much of what I buy is old, and I am happy to take on the risk of a handful of bad bottles (above and beyond TCA tainted ones). If I had a problem that deviated meaningfully from my historical experiences I might place a call, but so far that has never been the case. I suppose if I purchased from a retailer with an iron clad guarantee that was reflected in above market prices things might be different.
