There’s a few places with it around 70 but may be sold out. A lot of people think Thibauld Clerget is one of the most talented young winemakers in Burgundy along with Thomas Dinel and others.

After trying the 08 Dom the other night and being super impressed, found a 2009 price for the 2008 at my local Total (which I NEVER go into, but had a feeling...) and grabbed a few.

Found a cache of 1979 First Growths.
$200 each for Margaux, Mouton and Haut Brion.
$250 for Latour.

For some reason Lafite was $550, which I passed on. Pity as it would have been great to have all five for a tasting.
This is when buying wine can be seriously annoying. My good friend went to pick them up, driving from NY to Massachusetts only to find that the labels were horrible. He offered 66%, but owner refused. Ended up rejecting it.

I had a situation like that last year, split a few cases with my colleagues from one of their clients who was liquidating his estate and downsizing everything. Some seriously nice Classified Growth Bordeaux from the 70s and 80s. Purchased on release and stored in a walk-in wine room. What we didn't know was, the guy had moved several months earlier and all the wines were sitting in wood boxes in a side room of the house, say at 78-80 degrees. We took them anyway, honoring the committment. Most of the wines have been very good - not best showings for those wines, but good nonetheless - a couple have been duds. I would have passed had I know n in advance.

But you at least avoided clearing out the market for 2004 VCC. [thumbs-up.gif]

I guess relative to the 1998 going for $225+ the going prices on the ‘04’s could be worse.
