You bought $300 Cabs site-unseen based on rumors of something hot being made by someone hot and it all being exclusive and stuff?

Figure this thread to explode tomorrow. In a berserkers fashion. Fell off wagon again—08 Clos des Goisses and 15 PYCM MP, and a strange (to me) wine, 2013 Dauvissat Montee de Tonnerre.

First post, long time lurker!

Have been expanding my interests and cellar into riesling the last weeks, and have decided to lay down a foundation for the coming years/decades. Currently have next to no Riesling laid down (a grave oversight), and am looking to secure solid base

- Case of JJ Prum 2016 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese
- Case of JJ Prum 2017 Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett
- 2 bottles 2015 Brauneberger Juffer sonnenuhr Beerenauslese (wanted 3 but no more in stock)
- 3 bottles Von Winning 2017 "Kirchenstuck" GG
- 3 bottles Von Winning 2017 "Jesuitengarten" GG
- 3 bottles Von Winning 2017 "MarMar" GG

That will be it for forseeable future as the wife is looking in on my Wine budget ;)

The 3 Von Winnings have to wait until filling but have been reserved for me, now to wait untill May/September this year champagne.gif

2 bottles of 2017 JJ Prum Graacher Himmelreich Auslese Goldkapsel. I was just going in to my favorite liquor store to pick up some beer for the super bowl. My wife, while not a big drinker, does enjoy a bottle (normally around $10-15) of Riesling every once in a while. I peeked by the Rieslings to see if they had anything beyond the usual grocery store suspects in that range (Chateau St. Michelle, Kung Fu Girl, etc..), and these were sitting on the shelf for $52 each. I assumed that was for the regular version, so I mentioned it to the cashier. Turns out they were truly in the system for that price. Not sure whether to walk home proudly showing off my new trophies or to hide them in the cellar later tonight. I'm supposed to be on a moratorium for the next few months.

Found a cache of 1979 First Growths.
$200 each for Margaux, Mouton and Haut Brion.
$250 for Latour.

For some reason Lafite was $550, which I passed on. Pity as it would have been great to have all five for a tasting.
