As if I hadn't spent enough on Bordeaux this month, I picked up some Tertre Roteboeuf at K&L. Prices seemed too good to pass up

3x 1986 Beychevelle
1x 1934 Clos Vougeot from Château Couronné Malvoisin, a Mâconnais négociant label that doesn't exist anymore. Some of those old southern Burgundy négoce did a great job back in the day (Piat, for example), so this might be interesting.

I was offered a few bottles of 1964 Rousseau Bèze that have Piat labels.
I was unfamiliar with them.

6 x 2017 Chateau de Beaucastel

Remains one of the great wine buys in the world, snagged at $70.

PS. The 2017 Pegau is still generally available for $50.

What would you think the lifetime of a magnum of the Pegau would be? Seems like a pretty good option for 2017 birth year wines

Based on how 2000 is drinking, I’d have no concern about 20 years. I do love them young as well, however.

Dennis, the 16 BN chard is one of my all time favorites, I’m sitting on a case. I popped my first 17 a few weeks ago and it seemed very disjointed at first, and after an hour or so it started to come together and was excellent. I’m not sure how to really compare the two, but Gavin thinks these wines have 10-15+ year aging potential, so it’s possible the 17 needs time and would show better with a decant. Just my uneducated opinion. I still thought it was promising enough to buy more but maybe not in the same quantity as the 16. I’ve already got the 18 to worry about...

2017 Chanin Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard Santa Maria Valley - have heard good things about Chanin Chardonnays. Time to find out.
And another reload on 2016 Emidio Pepe Trebbiano.
Dennis, the 16 BN chard is one of my all time favorites, I’m sitting on a case. Thanks, Andrew! I saw a couple reviews with crazy drinking windows on the '17 - like through 2035 or so. Looking forward to trying when I receive them later in the fall. The longer the bottles aren't in my possession the better. Cheers!
