Dunn 1993 Petite Syrah x 2. Getting some REALLY interesting winery direct emails this week. I wish more of them would open their libraries up.

Right before things accelerated about a week ago, I picked up:

'04 Jamet 'Cote Brune'
'15 Fourrier Gevrey 'Combe Aux Moines'
A few '99 Pousse d'Or 1ers

Now, I'm keeping my powder mostly dry to see how the markets shake out: stock market, legal services market, wine market ...

That' a good buy. Obvious with its push into the high complexity territories, beyond the regular Provence reds. Tasted during a visit at the Domaine last month.

Picked up a dozen. I had a big gap in vintages of Tempier because the agent screwed things up to the point there wasn't any Tempier available for many years. Finally its back. My last vintages were 2004/05/06 so a 10 year gap. I was able to get some Pibarnon and Pradeaux in 2009-2013, but I just love Tempier more. Hoping I can track down some of the cuvee's. But this 2016 Classique is great.

1992 (daughter #1’s birthyear) and 2002 Chave a Hermitage. Because the end of the world. Off-year Chave = magic. And a couple of 1981 Gruaud Larose, never a bad idea.

Yes - the lineup was Levet, Michel's Geynale, Clape, Verset, Levet's Chavaroche, Sorrel le Greal and both Allemands.

Consensus was that the Reynard was the best wine, Levet was probably second best. Sorrel was likely a bit heat damaged (which is a shame - that's a lovely wine). All were ready to drink other than maybe the Clape, which was an odd wine - bigger than you'd expect and a bit alcoholic. Give the Levet about a half hour in a decanter, but then it's singing.

Thanks for the update. I only got a couple bottles, but the price at the Zachy's auction (about $250) was too good to pass up given today's crazy Jamet pricing. That said, we may be seeing cheaper Jamet and everything else if the bottom drops out of the wine market as I kind of expect it to do.

The Jamet 04 was the only producer we didn't have at our recent 04 Northern Rhone horizontal that I really wanted, but they're all drinking very well now. I imagine the Cote Brune should be great.
I'm not entirely convinced the bottom is falling out for 04 Jamet, but we'll see.........
Greg do you have notes on the '04 horizontal? Would love to see [cheers.gif]

If you look on Cellartracker for those bottles, my reviews are there (though I didn't collate them).
