Reloaded some old favorites, at somewhat higher prices than my original purchases:

2006 Taittinger Blanc de Blancs Comtes
2000 Lanson Noble Cuvée Blanc de Blancs

Went in for a few bottles of the new Mountain Tides release. A new producer for me...I’m intrigued.

Well I guess I'm buying some 2017 Mugneret Gibourgs (just the VR, NSG, Ech, and Ruchottes). Funny how difficult the Bourgogne is to find now!

was 89 a good year for sauternes? I really enjoyed an 89 Climens.
In general 1988-1990 were pretty damn good years. In my own limited experience 1989 is the biggest, largest scaled of the 1988/1989/1990 trio. The 1988s show more complexity, the 1990s more harmony. For me tasting the 1989 Yquem is like watching an elephant dance; you can't quite believe your tastebuds that something this big can also show this much grace and delicacy
I love this expression and will plan to recycle it with your permission :)

This week for me:
14 Huet Le Mont sec
14 Baumard Savennières Trie Spéciale
15 Matthiason Chard (on sale for $17 per at my local Total Wine) x2
14 Lanessan x4
79 Branaire-Ducru
17 Liquid Farm La Hermana
17 Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroirs de Chichée

2008 Les Celliers de la Croix Blanche Beaune 1er Cru Les Montrevenots

I recently opened up some 1993 and 2001 Les Celliers de la Croix that was great--so took a flyer on this from Greg. If you aren't getting Ziereisen, you are missing out. Great stuff.

Pax's fall release.

Probably shouldn't have, but free shipping a 25% discount, and splitting it with two friends who are getting into wine made it worth it.

Don't see myself buying much wine the remainder of the year.

The price I've paid has been creeping up with each vintage:
2017: $41.99
2016: $39.99
2015: $34.99
2014: $34.99
2013: $33.99

I used to get it through Envoyer but haven't seen it from them recently. The last two vintages were from Pluckemin. Even at $42 it's still one of my favourite Italian whites. A delicious field blend.

I'm not a big fan of Amarone / Valpolicella, but if I were to drink it, I'd drink Quintarelli. There's no denying the quality. We visited them in 2014 and had a great tour and tasting with Francesco, Giuseppe's grandson.

Macdonald 2016
Suduiraut 2016

Both birth year wines for my son.
Kris, have you tried the Suduiraut? I have LOADS of it for my birth year daughter (my idea is to use it for a wedding toast).
Haven't yet. I'll buy a half to see what timeline is, but I imagine its indestructible. Toast sounds great or a shot as a dinner interlude.
