Yes, but only 2015. Liked, but not necessarily loved. Ripe, could use more acid, but not glossy like Paris 60. Giving it a little legroom to try more as 2015 is a tough vintage to asses a new producer by. 2016 Barthod very small allocation: 1 Cras, Fuees, Baudes, Charmes, Beaux Bruns and Veroilles did not get any Gruencher, 4 village and 6 Bourgogne rouge. Still very happy. 2017 should be better since prodcuction was back to normal. Roumier 2 vill, 1 Morey, 2 cras, 1 Bonnes Mares...so lucky, Lafon 1 Perrieres and 1 clos de la Barre

Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
With our home remodeling extravaganza lately, I have no money for such frivolities like buying more wine...so for the last 3 months I didn't buy much, if at all. However, it appears the chicken has come to roost, and I have been purchasing just a wee bit, since the cellar was getting hecka empty. I'm trying some more value plays of wines I don't know, exploring Spain and Argentina
Over the last 2 months-ish:
6x 2000 Chateau Leoville Poyferre
2x 2017 Altovinum Evodia
2x CVNE Ribera del Duero Seleccion de Fincas
2x 2010 Bodegas LAN Rioja Gran Reserva
2x 2015 Palacios Remondo Rioja La Montesa
2x 2014 La Granja Nuestra Nenora de Remelluri Rioja
2x Stark-Conde Cabernet Sauvignon
3x 2016 Levet La Chavaroche
3x 2016 Levet Les Journaries
3x 2017 Hartford Court Chardonnay Four Hearts Vineyard (excited to try this)

A few 2005 Pichon Lalande. I don’t recall ever having tried it before; but, at its reasonable price, I figured “why not?”. A subsequent look at cellartracker shows middling reviews. No big. At worst, it should be good enough as a casual lunch red.

Yes you blew it, Noel!
According to the last CT note, this Lalande doesn’t taste anywhere near as good as a Napa Cab!

Alas, only 93 points. Take it back.June 2, 2019 - decanted for 1 hour prior to enjoying; had it side by side against Stag's leap Cask 23 (2016); more mature aroma, but definitely reserved compared to bold napa cap. tannins have certainly mellowed down over last 14 years, and it was extremely delicious.
Only disappointment was that it didn't linger on as cask 23 did.

I’ll check one of them out in a week or two. If I wind up not liking it (for whatever reason); well, that’s wine. I can always give the rest away to someone who may want them. Anyway, I got them at a pretty reasonable price.

I had some 08 SWC a month or so ago at a Pol Roger tasting. I thought it was great (and the best wine in their lineup), but it didn't blow me away at all and I didn't feel that it currently justifies the price tag; however, maybe/hopefully, it's premium becomes justified with more age.Greg Mitrakas wrote: ↑June 5th, 2019, 7:07 pmI split a case of this with a buddy recently and am hoping the same as you!!!alan weinberg wrote: ↑June 5th, 2019, 6:55 pm08 Winston Churchill. This is roughly how I felt trying it a few months ago next to the “09s. BUT WC IME always needs a lot of air time (and ultimately time in bottle) to really strut so I am never sure how informative such tastings are.J. Re: What is YOUR most recent wine purchase?
After making the "small block" list with Rochioli (waited 12 years), I picked up a couple of Rose' of Pinot, 4 bottles of SB, and 4 bottles of Olive Oil. Since All Ways Cool will be picking them up in approx a week, I figured what the heck and ordered 3 bottles of 2016 and 3 bottles of 2017 Castalia Pinot Noir made by the cellar master @ Rochioli I do enjoy this wine! Finally, I signed up for the Aubert wait list and they were nice enough to offer 3 bottles of the Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay, so purchased those. Overall a good week!
I'll be trying to restrain my purchasing over the next few months because in late July/early August is the Rivers-Marie Cabernet offer and August is the small block Rochioli Pinot offer that I plan on buying every bottle offered.

We just got the deposit and a refund back from our wedding venue (long story not worth going into) and my wife and I agreed to spend $500 of it on a single mixed case of wine. So yesterday we went into Bottle Barn and picked up a bottle each of:
2018 Massican Sauvignon Blanc
2015 Matthiasson White
2016 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese Feinherb
2017 Huet Le Haut-Lieu Sec

2016 Matthiasson Limerick Lane Zin
2014 Mount Eden Cabernet Sauvignon
Came in at $499.09 including tax. Perfect.
