Additional ‘16 Gonon SJ and also some ‘15 Jean-Luc Jamet Les Terrassese.
Are some retailers still honoring the ~$60 price on Gonon? The 16’s on WS have seemed to sit there forever at 100$+.

I bought in Asia for US$67, pretty good price.

I am not sure if I will be able to get ‘17 at that price!

17 Clos des papes; just one, I’ll probably get just a few of 17 CdP with a few Beaucastel, donjon, and VT

2011 Ch. de la Tour Clos Vougeot VV
2016 Marcoux CdP VV
Had the regular domaine Marcoux 2016 bottling on Friday and it was lights out good. I understand the VV parcels really up the ante for this estate (e.g. are significantly better, which is hard for me to imagine). Nice buy

Thanks J. I've not tried either the regular or VV in 2016 but am hopeful based on the vintage! The price was $145 which at this point in the game seemed pretty fair.

Pinot Noir 2016 James Bryant Hill.
Wine is great, but as usual paid two prices: a price of wine and a price for being in Tokyo

Just the one (fill a little higher than VTS) at a good price. The other bottle of the same offered looked to have leaked, and its cork was depressed & felt mushy; so I passed on that one.

Yup. Either a good deal or the most expensive vinegar I’ve ever bought. We’ll see. I was planning to open it tomorrow with a few good friends; but my wife was home when I was carrying the bottle and assumed I’d open it with her & the kids over Saturday dinner. I knew better than to tell her I had intended otherwise.

Heh heh true, true.

Bit of useless trivia: No law allowing divorce (yet) in the Philippines; but, the law does recognise a divorce decree duly issued abroad in a case initiated by a non-Filipino spouse (my wife is a US citizen).

I actually bought wine yesterday (or at least I think I did). 3 bottles of the Laherte Frères Rosé de Saignée in the envoyer offer. Nowhere to put it but it won't land for a while.
I like this one.

Yea, 'cause you are like 33 while I'm 53! I also have way more of this stuff perhaps than I can possibly drink in my dottage. Nah, I'll drink that shit all up.

Enjoying a nice 2011 Cuchet Beliando right now. It's Wednesday, with humps.

2000 Pontet Canet ($99 and beat a 1996 and 2006 tried at an offline)
2015 Mondavi To-Kalon Vineyard (JJ Buckley @ $89, curious about the hype)
2016 Heitz-Lochardet Pommard Ruggiens (really liked this at Paulee, was afraid it would sell out at HDH... and I'm the only one who bought any at all!)
2017 Duroche Lavaux VV (same price as 2016 Lavaux non-VV?)
2017 Duroche Clos de Beze (wake me up in 20)
2017 Hudelot Noellat Suchots (a bit cheaper than I can get 2016s for at this point)

Have my eye on 6 more, specific bottles. And then a self-imposed hiatus.

I liked the Heitz-Lochardet Pommard Rugiens a lot too - very strong but nervy cool cherry/cran fruit on top of a wall of tannins - needs plenty of time. A quick search reveals this (along with all domaine vineyards) was sourced to Drouhin until pretty recently. (I always liked Drouhin’s Rugiens too.)

Might explain why the bottles are still available then. The Drouhin Rugiens seems to be a < $100 wine and the Heitz is $105. But I'm happy with them. Wish I tasted it more at Paulee, but it was a memorable wine to me, and quite a bit cheaper than other memorable wines tasted.
