Languedoc/Pic St Loup question....Ch d`Assas?

A few here might know of my admiration for wines from this appellation. I came across this 06 today from Chateau dAssas, $30 Cdn. Appellation is Gres de Montpellier, and in small lettering “les Vignerons du Pic”.
Any of you experts have knowledge of this winery? Google search did not produce much!

Don’t know that winery, but have very much enjoyed St. Martin de la Garrigue’s bottling of the same name. Did not know it was an appellation. The St. Martin bottling refers to it as a Cuvee . . .

Paul, there seems to be quite some confusion. I think Les Vignerons du Pic is a cooperative. The front label just says “Chateau d`Assas” in fancy lettering.
Its the back label that has all the info. I have checked your bottle…>

Hi Bob–

Actually this is the wine I was referencing:

Does not appear on the winery’s web site. I mentioned because it shares the “Gres de Montpellier” designation with the wine you mention. Didn’t mean to confuse. In short, not familar with the winery but am familiar with (and have enjoyed) the designation.

Thanks,

Paul

No Paul, the confusion is my end! The back label is bizarre, plus lack of info on the `net. I use the Able Grape website for most info and even they are confused!

Found this for interest sake…>
