From magnum, with about 3 hours in the decanter. Excellent and likely at peak.

2015 A. J. Adam Drohner Hofberg Riesling Kabinett. This was simply a pleasure to drink with an early evening cheese plate on the back porch. . Not focusing on words to describe it, just accepting what it gives: balanced fruit and acid, very slight sweetness, drinking enjoyment! Great with the cheeses especially the goat cheeses and the mild blue cheese. Low alcohol so we easily finished the bottle. Yum!

Thank you Diane! The wine was a beauty, as was my blushing bride of 35 years(!). Envoyer had the rosé for ~$90 as I recall, and now (of course) I wish I had bought more of them at the time.I hope the GA was as good

Ouch on the Cathiard

How was the Philipponat? Trying to decide if I should open mine or keep them for a while
Drinking well, still obviously a lot of life to go - if you have multiple it can't hurt to open one now and calibrate where your tastes are in comparison to where the bottle is currently - after having this bottle I'd hold on to mine (if I owned any) for a few more years then check back in

14 fine bottles opened with dinner last night (2 of which were magnums), so I wish I had more time to spend on each, especially these two which were mine. The bubbly was the 3rd of these I’ve opened over the past 6 months; the still white was the 2nd in 2 months. Both were good. That said, the former still has some years to go to be on point; while the latter I again think isn’t one to keep for very long.

I'm really not experienced at traditional wine notes but it was simply an amazing bottle of wine. It was so well balanced, big and concentrated, but restrained from any trends (fruit, oak, vanilla bomb, etc) and not over the top in any way, and I have nothing to compare it to. I'll keep the others locked up for a while but that bottle sure was a treat to drink over the course of about 5 hours.

Domaine du Petit Clocher, Coteaux du Layon "Prestige" 2011. Been a fan of this property since bicycling 15 km to the winery on a borrowed pink three speed circa 2004. We have had a bottle of this probably once a year over the past few years. Always delicious, but this is the best it has tasted. Honeyed apricot/peach with now toned down acidity. Lovely.

2008 Clendenen Family Nebbiolo "the pip" - Jim killed it when this. lovely rose petals, red cherry nose. Incredible depth, the tannins have mellowed, crunchy.
Drank the 2014 Clendenen Nebbiolo "The Pip" yesterday. Similar notes, except the tannins had not mellowed as much being a bit younger. Also got a sour cherry note. Very nice, I would say it's a 90pts.

Drank my last bottle of a case last evening. This wine has been consistently good through the years.

2005 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (8/20/2019)
My last bottle of this wine. Still drinking well with grilled pork loin chop. Best with an hour of air. Earth, dark fruits, cola. Drink up. (92 pts.)

If it was on, you would know it is on. Clio has always been more of more - more oak, more alcohol, more wood. Not vinegar.

If you like that style, not a bad buy at all.

Another cheap supermarket red:

2016 Chateau Ste Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon. Had zero expectations. Just bought it because wife complains about me having too many fancy wines, but I joined in on it. And I have to say that I was shocked at how good this one was for only $10.99. The usual Cab style - full bodied, fruity and oaky. Very Napa-esque. Honestly, a sh*tload of value for that kind of money. Think I might go get a case or two just to have around the house. 90pts WS.

2016 Forgeron Cellars Chardonnay, Columbia Valley.. Never heard of these folks prior to our visit to Woodinville in June..They were recommended to us by staff at several other winery tasting rooms that we had visited..Fun place, friendly atmosphere..I love this wine, it is in a very good place right now and does not resemble any Cal Card or Long Island chard that I have ever tasted..Don't wanna compare to any of the Goodfellow chards that we tasted when we were in McMinnville as they were best wines we tasted on our trip in June (roughly 70 wines tasted) but the Forgeron chard really hit all the right notes last night..Not sure about its availability at retail, clearly available via drop-in at the tasting room or via wine club and mailing list.
Perhaps Adam Frisch might like this one..I will most likely buy more.

2017 Julia's Dazzle Pinot Gris Rose Columbia Valley, Wash....tasted and purchased at the Long Shadows tasting room in Woodinville..named after Allen Shoup's granddaughter, Julia...the wine is made by Shoup's winemaker Gilles Nicault..The grapes are given extended hangtime to obtain the tint ..I wd call it salmon colored...This is a delightful rose with just a hint of spritz..
bottle kinda fancy, designerish, which can be a bit offputting to some folk....but the wine in the bottle is one of the nicer rose's I have tasted this summer.

2016 C.V.N.E. Ribera del Duero Selección de Fincas - I continue to be amazed at the QPRs coming from Spain.

2014 Clos des Briords. Probably the oldest bottle of this that I have ever had. Lemony mineral, tamed acidity, full and round mouthfeel. Little/none of the briny electricity that I often find in the younger bottles, but a softened, calmer, differently delicious Briords. PFG !

2010 Marcel Deiss Altenberg Bergheim
Complex, racy, delicious. So many facets. Petrol and flint and savory reduction and orange peel and apricot and honeysuckle. Weightless power and great persistence. Balanced and finessed despite the major RS. Sometimes a wine makes you happy to be alive, and this is one of those times

2016 Andrew Rich Croft Sauvignon Blanc . Last of our three bottles. We have enjoyed this wine. To me it combines the pink grapefruit, tropical fruit of a tamer NZ SB with some of the more subtle appeal of a Loire SBs (more Touraine than Sancerre). This bottle showed subdued acid and more apparent fruit than the prior, also enjoyable, bottles. Oregon winemaker and Washington fruit.

P.S. Just noticed this is my third recent post on this thread. I may have too much spare time. . .

Opened Sean Thackrey's Pleiades XXVV yesterday. Madeira. Oxidized and bricked in color. Had to pour it out, very sad. Hopefully the second bottle isn't shot as well.

This lead me to instead open the 2016 Gehricke Petit Sirah. Very, very rustic and huge bitter tannins. Almost impenetrable. Darkest purple, almost violet in color. After some decanting I kinda liked it, but not very accessible for the casual drinker. Saw it was given 85pts, I would probably rate it a little higher, 88-89. Same producer aslo produced literally the worst Pinot Noir I've ever had (Moonbuzz PN), so they seem to be very hit and miss. But the design of the label is really nice on the Gehricke - they nailed that.
