TN - 2006 Domaine Puydeval Vin de Pays d'Oc Rouge

A Garagiste purchase - my first bottle from Garagiste sampled. It runs $11 a bottle, and impressive for that price - went well with ground sirloin. I don’t expect these to age very long, so drink up if you have them. No heat, decent mouthfeel, red fruit, just a touch of tannins - a very nice wine, suitable for a daily drinker without regret.

What variety(ies) is that one?

60% Cab Franc, 30% Syrah, 10% Merlot

Wow…unusual combo!

It’s Languedoc, what do you expect?

Is it? Not usually a lot of Cab Franc and Merlot but I guys they are planting more and it is a “Vin de Pays”. I love wines from Languedoc and it’s sub regions which are usually dense Rhone varietal wines. They represent some of the best values out there along with Southern Rhone for me.

Did you get this one? It’s DEFINITELY worth $11…

No. I often buy his Languedoc and Languedoc-Roussillon offerings though. Offered an 01 for like $10 that is drinking excellent.
