2001 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée

2001 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
A gorgeous wine, this has the typical Pegau nose of spiced meat, leather, roasted herbs and dark fruit aromas and actually, this is open and perfumed on the nose. The palate is still tight however and has a structured, medium to full bodied feel. There’s plenty of length on the finish but it’s certainly not carrying a lot of baby fat either and it lacks the richness of the Laurence. Should be fun to follow these wines over the next 10 to 15 years. (94 pts.)
