Any thoughts on the Sonoma Pinot Noir mystery today?
No clue. I received a mystery 2018 Wilde Farm Pinot that was similarly described in a recent order, and there’s nothing that says it hasn’t been offered before. But it could be tons of stuff.

I'd sworn off mysteries, but this one is pretty enticing. Think I'll grab a couple.

If it’s the Wilde Farm again, it’s worth it!

Looking at a Mystery Pinot I bought in May 2018 and checking the wine-searcher.com price history. Rimmerman's Mystery offer for $20 was full of hyperbole but it turns out that this ended up on the market sub-$25. The Rimmerspeak was all about the $40 price tag, but it's clear that this wine was being blown out. Saved a few bucks off of the full-reveal retail price but that's about it...

Current offering for La Ca Nova Barbaresco Montestefano 2016 is a heck of a good deal, on what promises to be a heck of a good wine.

There are 4 sellers on wine-searcher at $36-40, so if you really want it it's not too much more.

Another "Mystery Reveal"...

The "Rioja Mystery" from late last June is the 2012 CVNE Imperial Gran Reserva. Mystery price was $56.70, which is a decent amount less than I would have paid for this wine at retail around here. Given that I'm a fan of more traditional style Rioja, and definitely enjoy the Imperial line, certainly no complaints for me on this one.

The 2016 Tuscan mystery seems to be back. If it is the same bottle as before, then it is the Paglierese CC for 15.71. If it is that wine, it is on winesearcher from 16.99 and up -- so definitely a competitive price if you like the wine.

I did, haven't had it shipped out yet. The fact that Rimmerman does not mention the vintage in the offer leads me to believe it is a 2014, which was a middle of the road vintage for Barolo at best.

So... $40 today?

I bit on the Barolo the first time around, and actually stopped by the shop today, but did not pick it up/ask to look at it 😅

I can report, however, that the Newtella is quite amazing.

For those of you playing the Home game, the 2016 Napa mystery Cabernet from September 9 was Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon. At $498.70 maybe 10% off. Not terribly disappointed, except it was $435 direct mail....

Any idea what the Vosne romanee wine is?

Are these mystery wines typically good deals? $69 is quite a lot to roll the dice.

No idea about the Vosne Romanee. They generally are good deals in that they are below market. But you run the risk of buying a wine you might not have wanted. I agree about $69 being a lot for not knowing, but it pales in comparison to a recent mystery napa cab for $500 -- which you can read about earlier in this thread.

I'm finishing the last splash of a 2010 Elias Mora [Toro] that I opened on Monday. It's been the kind of keep in the fridge / have a glass as needed wine during the holiday week when the season overwhelms you. (to wit: the dog already destroyed his xmas presents, less than 24 hours after receipt....). It's a gutsy 15% abv wine, chewy/unfiltered/sedimented. The nose has a bit of fennel and licorice, also pepper. On the palate I get berry fruit, and loads of tannin. The oak seems absorbed now. It's a nice bottle, and apparently one of the better Toro vintners, a region that doesn't seem to get much attention beyond Numanthia (which I don't buy anymore). It's a good wine, but I'm not sure I'd reload. It seems like it would compete (in my cellar racks) with grenache driven Cotes du Rhone, although its a bit bigger. A- or so.

2010 had a little bit of a price premium over other vintages, fwiw.

Today a $289.70 mystery Napa Cab from 2016 where he doesn't even bother to tell you what retail is and says "this *should* be the lowest $ you see".

loooooooool

I bet the wine is offered for $300 from the winery.

It could be Ken Wright, I suppose. While the Adele wine in earlier Mystery offers was made by Ken Wright, it was not a Ken Wright label.

I have a growing collection of Felsina Rancia that I am patiently aging. I was pleased to see today's offer for the 1995 Rancia. I have not tried one that old before, and this seems a good opportunity to do so. Only picked up one bottle, but looking forward to trying it.

I bought some of these via an earlier offer from Garagiste back in 2013. All long gone by now -- they were wonderful examples of aged Sangio. And, back in 2013, they were offered at about $37/bottle. Screamin' deal back then at that price. Ordered one today, for old times' sake.

Old Rancia is good Rancia. I don't have any 1995 left, though. My current oldest are '99s, except that I deliberately put aside my last bottle of the '90 to see how it would taste at 30. We'll find out at some point this year...

Any guesses on the Willamette four pack?
My guess is Zena Crown 2016. You see it pop-up on K&L now and on “special horizontal tastings” in the tasting room.

Old Rancia is good Rancia. I don't have any 1995 left, though. My current oldest are '99s, except that I deliberately put aside my last bottle of the '90 to see how it would taste at 30. We'll find out at some point this year...
We should compare notes. I also have a bottle of 1990 left that I plan to drink this year.

I recently put a bottle of 1999 up against a bottle of 2010 for a special birthday dinner. That was fun!

When Rancia is good, it is very, very good.

Anyone have any idea about the two wines offered in "Barolo Fun!" today? Note the statement that "...both are WAY under market for their normal US trading $...". To me, that is saying that "these wines are currently discounted to about the same price elsewhere in the U.S.".
