Can anyone tell me about The Debate? I snagged the 2014 Beckstoffer Dr. Crane cause it seems difficult to mess up grapes from that area and it’s an anniversary year bottling. Did I overpay?

All I know is The Debate has been posted 3 or 4 times so far. It sounds interesting but is not in my wheelhouse. Unlikely that you overpaid, though.

It was multiple vintages--not re-posted. It has been on Berserker Day for a few years--and it was cheaper on LastBottle than it was on Berserker Day, which is saying something. Most often grapes from Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard cost around $200 a bottle. Jeff Leve gives them huge marks on Cellartracker--so if you align with his tastes, it was a deal:

Yeah, this was new to me. I picked up a lone bottle of the 2013 Dr. Crane.

At the price ~$120 you'll be pleased given the vineyards. The name is pretty gimicky but the wines are serious if you like the more modern napa style but not crazy oaky. At $150 plus there are better options IMO

I was in Ronda, Andalucia exactly 1 year ago. I don't care if the 2013 La Melonera Encina del Ingles Ronda is any good; I bought 2 bottles. Ronda was terrific family memory and I'm happy to have these bottles.

I picked up a few bottles of the 214 Leeuwin Art Series chardonnay when it came around yesterday. Regretted missing out on that last marathon and the praise it gets on here have me excited to try it. That's the only thing I've jumped on so far, but may bite on some of that Barbaresco mentioned earlier.

Yount Ridge is already gone. It is Celia Welch, but that is about all I know about it. Lot of good wine out there for around $100, so I passed rather than rush purchased.

Winesearcher low is $237, pretty good deal, I’ve never had it and 99 bucks is high for a flyer-I passed reluctantly.

I suspect you'll see the Yount Ridge pop back up, I've seen it at least three times so far, and I'm not watching all that carefully.

I suspect the Yount ridge will be a good wine and Vinous gave it a positive review/rating. I guess I am a skeptic and when I saw something only available for $240 and it is marked down to $99, I had a flashback to when I purchased the mystery cab 6 pack from LastBottle during black Friday or Halloween (I can't remember now), which was supposed to contain $75-150 bottles. In that pack was a bottle a bottle of 2014 Trois noix that I tried and it was mediocre at best. Retail for that wine was $100+ and was similar on winesearcher. I later saw this bottle during the marathon listed for $40.

I guess that experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I had a flash back when I saw the Yount Ridge and a similar mark down. The Trois Noix was also touted for having an excellent pedigree. I am probably just being paranoid.

If you don’t like them, I’ll buy the your remaining stock. I had the 2014. I bought one line bottle form last years Dec. marathon and tried to find more for the last year with no luck. It is almost worth the 75ish retail. Let me know what you think when it eventually arrives.

Never did see the Krug or Grange pop up. It's entirely possible they only had one of each and it went faster than Vinelog could document.

I believe there was a Grange during power hour but have not seen a Krug
