New poster here. HI!
Did anyone get in on the latest st Emilion? At $22 it’s tempting.
I went in for a half dozen. There's a lot of $20 St. Emillion currently out there from 2015/16 and I've been stocking up.

I tried the Ascent Cabernet couple months back, and believe it is hidden ridge reserve. SO I still think they do shiners from time to time, but this one sounds different and too costly from my perspective. I would buy the Ascent if offered again.

We have opened two of four bottles purchased. If this is the 2012 Hidden Ridge Reserve, it is not worth the original premium pricing. IMO, the base 55% Slope is a far better wine. Last week we opened bottle 9/15 of our 2012 Hidden Ridge 55% Slope. Way better than the Ascent. The best Cabernet qpr that I have come across.

I liked the ascent and would buy again at that price.

LB shorted me 4 bottles of Mondavi cab - showed as being included in a shipment, but wasn't in there. Ugh. Also they still haven't shipped my Marathon wines. Maybe they are waiting for Xmas? New Years? July 4?

I'm assuming/hoping this has been resolved by now, but for future reference, I've always received great customer serviced from LBW (and First Bottle Wines) and they've always addressed any issue promptly over email.

yes it was resolved. They had some kind of inventory issue in the west coast warehouse and were going to ship it to me from the east coast if it was in stock. I had so many bottles coming I told them they can either cancel or ship from east coast, and they opted to cancel. Which was great, I got the dopamine hit from the purchase without having to store the wine.

I'm not going to get it, but the Clos Saint Jean Chateauneuf du Pape Sanctus Santorium 2015 (1.5L) sounds great and it's more than $50 under the next lowest price.

The CDP does look amazing - picked one up!

Re: the Wind Gap, I know it’s too late. I haven’t ever tried that Grenache, but I have had their PN and Chard. They are okay, good value if not excellent wines. They seem to be seen frequently on discount. Not sure why.

I didn’t think it was that good of a price to motivate me to buy a wine not on my radar/buy list.

Any thoughts on the 2016 Besson Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir up for $39 right now? I wasn't planning on buying white wine but this could be an interesting one to age for a bit.

Long Meadow Ranch?

Started in the 1980's, adjacent to Scarecrow.

Hmmmm...

Did a little digging and I think it's the Elyse 2013 Morisoli cabernet. Seems to line up with all the hints, and I think they've done a past mystery before (based on searching it on this site). Seems like a pretty solid if not insane deal?

Read the cellartracker tasting notes. While it sounds like a lovely wine, the descriptions are not of a peak N Rhone experience. There are plenty of 92-94 point wines at a lower price.

JLL said it was in an awkward phase with too much oak and not enough other filling and gave it three stars out of six. He said it might still integrate but hasn't yet.

Same for me. Was stoked at first but seems like there are better ways to spend $140

Today's offer looks like a good buy.

I think I'm ready for another marathon sale. Does anyone know if one should be coming up soon or how often they usually have them?
